Harry, I'll bet for the majority of us, if Word (or Open Office Writer, or whatever our personal text editor is) doesn't cedilla me, we spell it as 'facade' and everyone recognizes what we mean. Correct spelling isn't important in recognizing meaning, let alone correct lettering.

We're such word whores, taking anything close to the word intended without giving it a second thought. We can't get some folks to write a complete sentence without injecting text-speak, like 'I C U R YY 4 ME' (I see you are too wise for me). So losing a cedilla along the way is minor compared to lossing the actual words.

It cannot be Pixel Qi, it would not be cheap. So it must be LCD. It will function maybe 5-6 hours (then recharge) if you are lucky. Reading from an LCD screen is not fun, besides if you already have a laptop, why bother with this device? And a laptop can do much more. So what is the point of this device? Because I cannot see it.

Though I don't believe we've been given an exact figure, Pixel Qi claims their technology will be relatively inexpensive.

True, eReader is a book format, but e-reader( note the dash) is the word used in most technical literature and technical web sites like cnet and zdnet to mean an electronic device for reading electronic books.

Still 3Qi screens have the advantage in that, unlike say eInk or OLED, they can be manufactured within the existing LCD infrastructure.

Actually the ability of the English language to absorb new words is what has made it one of the most popular languages in the world. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_English

English is a mish-mash of everything from latin to french to germanic, speanish and internet speak. The occaisional foreign word doesn't other me so much (it's not like he made the whole post in arabic).

As for this device, it looks FANTASTIC and ASUS will price it competitively and it will probably run on an open platform like Linux. WIN all around.
