Sure we are: everyday we are closer than the day before (I'm not sarcastic), but as Shaggy said it's 20 years that we get closer and closer without reaching it.

I like to think of it as an asymptote: we'll get closer and closer without actually doing exactly what we want. To tell the truth, I see many goals that technology strives to reach as asymptotes, and more often than not these goals have been set by sci-fi literature.

As I'm sitting here looking at my Sony 700 and thinking about the new 600, I realized that the thing actually has a name! "Portable Reading System" or PRS. That works for me!!

I'm ashamed to say it, but up until today I never looked or was that interested in what PRS stood for. I couldn't believe it actually meant what it meant Seems like as good a name as any to me. A PRS, that fits all the devices easily enough.

I've actually had to look this up in the Chicago Manual of Style. E-mail, E-reader, E-publishing. And yes, the E is always capitalized.
