Considering the fact that the PRS-300 has not yet been released, the answer is "no" .

Sorry about that Harry, I jumped the gun a bit... I have been religiously reading the comments on the OPUS lately, as well as all the news about ePub. So I was wondering if I wanted a second reader, which on it will be.

Sony has aready annonced the PRS-300 availability for Canada. For the OPUS I still have to order in France, unless BoB gets it in the USA.

I have tackled the conversion of all my books to ePub to be ready just in case.

The future looks good!

I gather that you are still very satisfied with your OPUS ???

Regards,

Georges

Yes, very happy with the Opus. It hangs up occasionally, but I can live with that.

Mine froze up on me today for the frist time. It happened for no reason. Then it took me a few moments to remember where the reset button was. I had to press acouple of times to get it to reset. No problem, although I wish the reset button wasn't under the battery cover. I don't relish the the act of frequentlu taking the cover off. I am afraid I may break something since it didn't slide off easily. Also after reset it did not resume where I left off at, but at the first page I started with when I began reading today. Real bookmarking would be nice.

Also, I wish that I could remap the side buttons. I would rather the bottom button was forward rather than reverse. Other than that I am really enjoying this new reader. I am also reading an epub book from Fictionwise and it is quite nice.

The other way to do it is to hold down the Power button + the back button for 7-10 seconds until the blue light comes on. This will reset it.

I also want this. I sent an e-mail to bookeen support about it.

My Opus crashed a lot back when I first got it. I sent an e-mail to Bookeen support & they asked me if I had my auto power off activated. I had it de-activated, so I changed it to activated to see what would happen. It freezes less (but still freezes every now and then).

Thanks Nina for the reset info. I don't remember see that info in the brief user manual that came with the reader.

I am glad to see that someone else would like remapping. Hopefully others feel the same and Bookeen will add this feature.

I first emailed Bookeen and requested the ability to remap keys with the release of the first Bookeen Gen 3 units back in November/December 2007. At this point I feel pretty comfortable assuring you that this new feature will be released "Next Monday" (TM) .

It's definitely in the manual that's on the Opus. Of course, it helps to read that before the machine freezes on you .

Does that works properly for you ? Mine does restart, but then keeps displaying welcome screen with blue light on, and won't move until i do a hard reset.

It probably works as on the Gen3 that the page you are reading is saved when you exit the book. So I usually exit and enter a book regularly so I will not loose this information when I run out of battery.

Yes, if you reboot a computer very often you avoid certain bugs...

It does. I've got into the happen of returning to the library screen every 15 minutes or so "just in case".

Yes Harry, I should have read the manual on the Cybook. I wanted to read a book first before looking at it. Mainly because I am really into out-of-the box usability. That is my first test of any reader. So I was feeling pretty good about usability until the freeze, but that is so minor.
