I have been reading Stieg Larsson books. The first two of a trilogy are out: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and The Girl who Played with Fire The third should be out next year. Unfortunately, the author has died, but it is an interesting body of work built upon his work as a writer on economics I think. Principal characters are the publisher of an economic journal in Sweden and the title girl who is initially very odd but for whom the reader gradually gets to know and admire. At least this reader did! The books contrast power and the powerless, particularly as mediated by economics and society. The writing is somewhat uneven, but overall I enjoyed it. Some of the writing flubs may be due to the translation from the original language, Swedish.

Sorry, I think I put that last post in the wrong place. I'll get better at this.

I've been listening to the first book as an audio book, with Simon Vance as the reader. Man he can do some sexy voices. I thought it took a while to get started, but I still loved all the details. I now might cave in and buy the second book.

As for Under the Dome, the size of it freaks me out. Maybe when I read enough reviews, I'll cave in. At least the e-book edition won't weight thirty pounds.

I just bought the German language version of the third book, since I did not want to wait until June for the English translation -- even though you pay 50% more for the German version! Going on vacation tomorrow and it is next on my list. You better behave or I will fill you in on all the details.
