Just bought Wired for War by P.W. Singer.

A military expert reveals how science fiction is fast becoming a reality on the battlefield and it's implications on the rest of society.

Wow! I have learned so much, and I thought I was pretty up to date on this stuff! I am only 25% done and it is going so slow, because I have to go look at the blogs he reference's and the different weapon systems he writes about.
This book is just great - it's not all about war robots but other fields too.

I got my kindle a few weeks ago and have found many good books I am interested in, but this one is really hard to put down.

After reading one of my Sony freebies (Treasure Island - never read the full version when I was young), just bought Rohinton Mistry's "A Fine Balance". Partly because after Slumdog Millionaire I felt like reading it again, but mainly because in paper book form it's huge, and that makes me smug holding the reader one handed on a crowded train

Downloaded Old New York by Edith Wharton. I tried to find it in the domain where all of her other stuff is, so I had to buy it, I wanted it for a long time.

The last eBook I bought was Grapes of Wrath. I'm annoyed because I bought it from fictionwise in eReader format and then inherited a kindle. My efforts at conversion aren't going well thus far (I assure you, it's all operator error on my part).

Before that it was "Travels with Charley" (another Steinbeck classic). I'd forgotten how much I enjoy his work, it's been so long since I read it. It's like rediscovering an old friend.

'Down the Stream of Stars' by Jeffrey A. Carver, 2 paperback copies of them actually.

Seems one son lost his on a big city bus he takes to work across the state, and the other one had just recently, (yesterday), 'booknapped' the copy I had sitting by my computer.

I saw the film this weekend and though it was good and that in spite of having read the first (and second) book three times... Usually when you know a book to well it is hard to appreciate the film.
