Reduce the weight, each model should be an improvement on the last. I just lost my beloved Forma so need a replacement but I am completely put off the Sage due to its weight. I find myself seriously considering the 5 year old forma instead.

The Sage has a load of "useless" magnets, presumably for the pointless power cover.

I'm tempted to lever them out to reduce weight; they do seem to be glued in.

Does the latest version of RMSDK contain the fonts required to display MathML? I do find that using kepub with a secondary font helps but ePub on a Kobo does not support a secondary font.
Upgrading ADE without the necessary math fonts being accessible is not going to help with displaying MathML.

Is there an issue with sideloading necessary fonts for this?

💯%

I had a Libra H2O and I got a Libra 2. The weight difference was really bugging me. I switched to a Paperwhite because of that. I’m waiting for new models to come out. I hope they will be lighter.

I envy your sensitivity - the Libra 2 is 7 grams heavier than the Paperwhite (0.25 of an ounce), I'd love to be able to tell that small a difference

I'm glad you asked that, grasshopper. If you use kepub, you can add one supplementary font without needing to embed it which so far has been my preferred approach. If you use epub, there is no supplementary font so a sideloaded font would have to support the entire set of glyphs you want to use. This leads to having to embed one or more fonts in the epub and making sure you keep track of which is being used where.

One major issue, for me, is that is most of the math font lacks quite a few glyphs so you can't really use it by itself by selecting a font from the font dropdown or they are simply a fugly font.

And has a slightly larger display, and buttons.

Heck no. We need the extra weight for a better battery. Plus, the Forma used used a plastic screen.

The Libra H2O was 190 grams, while the Libra 2 weight 215 grams. After an hour of reading one handed, yes, it shows.

The Paperwhite weight 205 grams, but the weight is evenly distributed. I’m holding it differently. No buttons, no extra space. If the Oasis was not that old, I would have bought it instead. It’s very light.

I'm also a fanfic reader and noticed that too - it didn't seem to take noncommercial works into thought at all really.

If you don't mind the extra weight, why not carry around an extra external battery. Problem solved.

How exactly would you expect Kobo to take non-commercial works into account? (other than making it easy to sideload content.) It's not exactly Kobo's (or any e-reader's) fault that fanfic sites don't export their material to epub. That would be an easy thing to include, but the hosting sites are attached to page views for that sweet ad revenue, so.....

Have you ever tried using the Calibre Fanfic add-on, Fanficfare? I've had *really* good results with it.

Archive of Our Own allows direct download to ePub.

Yes, I use FanFicFare.

Specifically, I felt like the question "why do you sideload content?" didn't have an option to account for noncommercial works.
