I have a Bernina 831 which was delivered on 28th November. That was in 1976.
The reason that I hang on to it is because it does *blind hems*. Hems are the bane of my life. Everything that I buy has to be shortened. ![]() What I cannot live without. My desktop computer. ![]() Kindle ditto ![]() Television ![]() iPhone ![]() Car ![]() |

My pacemaker.
(No, I don't have a pacemaker, but anyone who did would have a hard time giving it up, I think.) |

My digital toaster. I like my toast hot! Fresh out of the toaster. With me seconds count. I used to stand by my toaster waiting for the toast to come out (wasting precious time). Now with my new toaster with a digital count down timer I can glance at the toaster and see how much time before my toast will be done. Then I can decide if I have enough time to open up the fridge and grab a glass of orange juice or perhaps pick up the egg that had fallen on the floor earlier while I was preparing scrambled eggs. Before making toast was a singular experience , now I can multitask which has proven to be a real time saver.

Aside from my trusty PRS-505, I wouldn't want to give up my stereo, my dishwasher, or my ice-cream maker, which is essential if you have nieces and want to make sure you're their favourite uncle
