I ordered some tweezers to use in my laser welder. They are from a third party and originated in Memphis Tennessee. Imagine my surprise when USPS shipped them from Memphis to New York State then New Jersey and have now left Tallahassee on their way to me. I live in South Georgia. Straight line delivery would have had them to me in three days. I guess USPS is taking a page out of the book Airlines use to route passengers.

The last time Walmart told me something was delayed, I'd already received it a day or two before. About a week later, they informed me it was shipped. But generally stuff has arrived when it's supposed to.

Granted they'll probably keep doing it every year from now on, even after things settle down. Just wait, ten more years or so and the sales will start in June. ![]() |

I once ordered something from an eBay seller one state over. Probably a 2 hour drive from my town to theirs. Bur the Post Office routed it from the seller's town to a larger city in their state (opposite direction from me), then sent it to a large city in my state (nowhere near me) and eventually back to me. The whole process took several days and hundreds of miles.

I had a package of diamonds shipped from Rochester New York that went to Miami, then Ft. Lauderdale, then to Miami Beach, back to Ft Lauderdale, Miami Beach again, followed by Jacksonville and on to Tallahassee before it showed up at my business. This was USPS and it was an Priority Express Next Day package that actually took a week and a half.
This year I have had four packages shipped overnight from Lafayette Louisiana go to Flint N=Michigan first. My diamond company shipped a package of diamonds to Alaska via Fed Ex and they ended up in Hong Kong. If Fed Ex and UPS ever merge they should name the company Fed Up. Apache |

I rarely use USPS, for obvious reasons. I used to use UPS a lot, but now they are the worst. I think they should be renamed to "Oops". My door cam caught an UPS guy literally throwing a package onto my front porch last year. Thankfully it wasn't a breakable item, but still... And early this year they delivered a Sony Bravia 4K HDR TV that had an obvious large ding on the packaging and a shattered screen where the ding was. Amazon replaced it without questions, but I made sure they knew UPS had banged up the package in shipping or delivery.

Forget interstate, I live in a town midway between two large cities less than 100 miles apart. If I send a letter to my own town, it goes to the city to the north then back to my town. If I send a letter to the next town in the direction of the other city, it goes to the city to the north, then the other city, then to the town whose border is only a few blocks away. (The entire space between the cities is filled in with suburbs.) This allowed USPS to greatly reduce the number of employees and macines doing mail sorting. My reference to fiction was because some of my packages supposedly made multiple large trips all over the country in very short times. |

I ordered a computer from HP on 9/1. They said it would be built and shipped on 10/6. Long time but ok. Then around 9/28 they email and say it won't be done until 11/4. I called and almost cancelled but didn't. Yesterday they emailed and said not until 12/7 and if I want to cancel to reply. I emailed back to cancel and refund ASAP. I'll hopefully find a good pc in one of the black Friday promos.
