Yes like a hole in the head but I like to tinker with new toys

They are sleazy. They stil most of the information for their posts. Their reviews of Kobo's are awful. They ripped off many people with their Readers they are selling. They are worthless and that's on a good day for them.

Good choice. Stephen King and Peter Straub are two of my favorites. (Though I admit I prefer each working solo to their work together on The Talisman and Black House.)

Just found my way back to mobileread after debating spending the $$ on an Oasis since I scratched my voyage . However, I then found about about Kobo’s and became intrigued. I didn’t even realize Walmart was going to be selling them, so I’m hopeful that my local Walmart will have them tomorrow!

Yes, me too.

A few years ago my husband ordered from Kobo in what he thought would be plenty of time for my Christmas present. He never got any shipping notice. He finally got ahold of someone on the phone, and after that it actually shipped. It arrived the day after Christmas.

More recently I ordered from Indigo. That was much smoother. But I'd still rather not deal with things coming through customs.

Weill this one post disappeared overnight then showed up again. But I noticed their verbiage was similar to another site reporting on Walmart they also write a lot of negative B&N articles.

Remember folks Wal-Mart has a 15 Day Limit on Electronics for Returns...after that you have to deal with Kobo. Just a heads up.

I did an account logout/login today & in login, I get a create Walmart account along with login with Google, facebook, etc. At the bottom of the page, I got to login with Kobo. My logout/login was to try to have the easily scrambled database to be corrected/repaired.

As that did not work, I did the factory reset & got the same blurb to create a Walmart account, etc.

Walmart must now be the default login if they see your IP address is in the U.S. I guess that makes sense for new users. For people who've been using Kobo for a while it's kind of weird.

Yes, that's what I thought. Pulled up Kobo from a different computer last night and saw the Walmart option when signing in. I stuck with my regular Kobo login. I see on my account page there are a ton of different accounts you can link to for sign in -- now including Walmart at the bottom of the list there.

What's weird is that, in my Vivaldi browser (a Chrome variant made by some of the ex-Opera employees) I can login to Kobo, log out, go to the Walmart Kobo page, login and logout and repeat — and everything works. But I've never told Vivaldi to save any passwords, so maybe that's why it works.

BTW, thanks to you (and everyone) who explained how easy it would be to link accounts. I see it now. At this point I don't want to (I don't even know if I'll keep the "Walmart" account, as I don't see much point). But, for now, I want to keep it for experimentation, and just in case they have promotions or sales Kobo "proper" doesn't have.

That's my thinking, too, but so far the books and prices seem to be in sync.
