Patch Custom Header menubars
Sorry for my english
For this patch "Custom Header menubars (old + new Home screens) reduce height by 33%" there are two sections, one "Old header for those using old Home Screen" other "New header for those using new Home Screen". If I want to use the "New header" I must delete the code for the "Old header " ? Thanks Last edited by gillrael; 02-27-2017 at 01:20 PM. |

Hello,
My Aura One upated yesterday and now my line endings are all chopped again. I've applied patches before but today it isn't working. What am I doing wrong? When I try to run ./4.3.8842.sh from the Terminal, I get these errors: Quote:
Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Thanks! |

I know there's an 8871 out but mine is on 8842, so that's the firmware I downloaded and am following the instructions for.
It looks like some kind of UNIX shell error, like it is looking in /usr/local for some reason? Can I move to 8871 myself or do I need to wait for it to update itself? Last edited by bsabiston; 03-03-2017 at 02:02 PM. |

You have to put the complete kobo-update-4.3.8842.zip file into the 4.3.8842_source folder.

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=284124 You need to download the correct Mark version for your device. Which Kobo do you have?# Also, the patches for 4.3.8871 are out. |

Sorry, n00b here...
If I install patches, is there anything special I need to do when a new update is released? Will the patches block new updates from being installed? Just in case, for the pp who had a bootloop issue, how did you resolve it? Were you able to reset to factory? Is there anything I need to do before installing the patches to make it easier to recover if something goes wrong? I should be getting my first Kobo in about a week, and I'm super excited! ![]() |

Patches are made to the actual executables on the device. When an upgrade occurs the executables from Kobo are patch free. You need to wait for the patches to be made available for the new build and reinstall them. In some case a patch will no longer be applicable to the new version.

Great. So I don't have to worry about undoing patches in order to get updates, then. I know for a lot of devices, you can't get updates when the device is jailbroken or changed in various ways. ![]() ![]() |
