You probably did something worng or delete the headline "/* found: 83 (zlib) pos: 4be516 */".
Delete the all the text from line 190, see that you get in patch.py "OK compresed code after..." .

I edited my post, cause I found out why :
I used wordpad to edit the css, and it changes the formating.
So I used notepad, and everything is ok.

I've made a program that might be useful to convert patches from patch-nickel-css to a form that can be used with patch32lsb. See https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=278948

The patches it creates are not customisable, but if the original patch has reasonable default values it could still be useful.

Okay so I just installed the patch but unfortunately my A1 is a little unhappy. I may have enabled the wrong patch or something, however could someone answer me this:

In epubs on my patched H2o, it would eliminate the huge normal footer space on pages but ALSO display the page number/progress bar at the bottom. I believe I enabled some patch and yes the footer is gone, but no page number. Did I enable the wrong patch? Should I re-apply the patch? Or is it just not possible? I also have edited the config to include that fullscreen mode thingy but toggling it off/on does nada... Thanks...

Also sorry for being a frustrating noob *rings tech-support again*

There are two patches for the footer. One eliminates the footer, the other reduces the size. Did you enable Disable reading footer or Custom reading footer style? Below is how I have them set.

# The following two patches are alternatives, don't enable both at once.
#
# `Disable reading footer`
# `Custom reading footer style`
#

patch_name = `Disable reading footer`
patch_enable = `no`

patch_name = `Custom reading footer style`
patch_enable = `yes`

Good luck!

Thanks so much. I believe I just selected Disable Reading footer. Hoping that reapplying the patch with Custom Reading Footer enabled and the other off will fix it. Kind of enjoying having no page numbers though!

Edit: yep, works like a charm now. Thanks! So the firmware will be updated as per usual when a new release is released by Kobo? Then its just a matter of waiting for the new patch? Dont believe I ever checked 'disable automatic updates' but I always wondered if it just updated itself automatically... luckily for us Kobo only updates their own firmware every half a year or so right?!? :S

Is it possible through modification of the firmware to control something like the background light? The auto-light of the new kobo is intriguing. And with entering the geographic location could be easily adjusted for daylight hours in different time zones.
