I meant that quite literally. The misunderstanding came with you assuming that “converting everything to kfx” would entail “not converting into mobi” and “deleting all mobis”. Just think of Calibre. You could convert your entire library to .lit format and still be able to get all of your books on your Kindle because a) “converting all books to .lit” does not mean “deleting all other formats” (Calibre retains them) and b) Calibre could, at any time, reconvert your .lit books to .mobi (and epub and what not) so that they would be compatible with your device.
But I am sure it sometimes feels good to without

I did not know how Calibre works. I just know that when one changes a format, the original is not always saved.
So it was a not a .

I think we are all now.

Is being in KFX format enough for page flip to work? Or is there some additional "magic" that needs to be applied to the file?

As far as I can tell being in KFX format is sufficient for regular reflowable e-books to support page flip and enhanced typesetting.

KFX is also used for other things, such as interactive textbooks and magazines. I am not sure whether they support page flip or not.
