Some people's fingers don't interact well with capacitive touch screens. All of my fingers work on my iPhone, but I'm not one of those people.

With the Sony x50 line of readers with PRS+ installed, you could set the reader to turn the page automatically after xx seconds, which I used quite often when eating something messy that might make my fingers greasy when I still wanted to read. It was a great option that I still miss.

I've had various device and reading apps that have offered that option, but it just doesn't work for me. I don't read at a uniform rate. I stop and start, and go back and re-read the previous paragraph from time to time.

The obvious problem with your tradition is the requirement to use chopsticks. I can't see such a movement getting very far...

Well, yes so do I, but sometimes I need to drink and fend the dogs off while eating.
