Kobo stupidly started to name the release file for the various devices the same, which makes it easier to sideload the wrong firmware for your device. Since then, I've been naming the releases based on either a feature of the release, or some action that Kobo took (the 127 Hours release was pulled very quickly), or even the season. 3.8.0 is The Charge of the Light Brigade release because of the new light adjustment feature. Before I started to name the releases, the tag line for the release generally had a major feature of the release. |

As am I. Although I don't adjust the light level often, it's definitely easier to use than the settings menu approach. Also, it works great for turning the light off as somehow I can never seem to find the button on the top of the unit by feel alone.

So can you turn the light completely off by swiping the screen on the HD? I can't do that on my Glo, it only goes down to 1% and I can only turn it off by using the button.

I like it too, I had to upgrade my HD just for the light swipe feature. Now doing a Glo.

I found out that on the Glo it works only on the upper left till halfway down to slide the light, I tried the whole screen so I didn't got it working.. on the Aura HD it looks like it is the whole screen, but you have simply more space because it is bigger so it works the same there but by the size of the screen I thought it works on the whole screen.. yes.. stupid...

On my Glo I have full control on the left hand side. Yes; it's a bit finicky but it does work regardless of where I start the slide.

According to the specs posted on the Kobo website, the H2O is 233g and the HD is 240g--so the weight difference between the two is negligible. No info on the sleep cover for the H2O yet.

Works the same for me, I can begin the slide from anywhere along the edge. For me the main thing is for my finger to be touching the bezel and the glass, to really get along the left side. Any distance from the bezel and it usually won't work then at all no matter where I begin the sliding gesture.

Mind you with the water proof feature I wonder how many will go for the sleep cover any way. regards Jack |

I'm pretty sure the aura hd sleep cover won't fit the h2o. The sizes listed in the specs for each device are slightly different--hd is listed as 175.7 x 128.3 x 11.7 mm and the h2o is listed as 179 x 129 x 9.7 mm. Since the sleep cover fits snugly, it unfortunately won't be interchangeable between the two devices.

I have a Touch Low Cost, N905C. That is Mark 4 hardware, correct? Anyway, now that I have upgraded to 3.8, I can connect to Wifi but cannot synch. The message is the popup "Network Error"=Ooops something happened to your internet connection and we couldn't finish your update. Please check your connection and try again. I've made sure my router time/date and Touch time/date are in synch.
The internet connection stays intact after that and I can continue to use the web browser. Any ideas? I guess I could do a factory reset this time and go directly to 3.8 to see if that fixes it. It did before on 3.5. I just never have been able to get my bookmarks back, even with Calibre, so I'm lazy to go through that exercise again. |

I see that from occasionally. Powering off and on usually fixes it. When it doesn't, it seems to fix itself later. But, that might be a change of location (work and home) and network.
