Nope. They haven't. They (Bookeen) are waiting on softcovers. Might either ship today or Monday...

Bonjour Stéphane!

I got my Cybook in the first order that NAEB did last march. I believe it was called the January order... So the wait was long and frustrating.

But trust me the Cybook was well worth the wait!

I also believe that Bookeen owes a lot to guys like Delphi96 and HarryT. They do a lot for the good for the cybook!

Soon you will get your Cybook, start reading and all that frustration will be a distant and faint memory!

Four people, three states, all four of us doing the one-armed-paper-hanger act. Updating the NAEB website gets lost in the shuffle... Sorry.

NAEB seems to be doing a great job...

I think that Bookeen are holding out on units so they can sell the limited amount of cybooks available to stores that pay full price or their e-shop that sells overpriced units to us Europeans.

I mean waiting for covers? Really? There are lots of companies that could make those covers.

While I understand that Bookeen sells to the highest bidders, it pisses me off that they lie to the customers that actually want the product enough to wait months for it.

Lie to customers? Who has been "lied to"?

As far as I know, only two companies *actually* make softcovers for the Cybook - the one Cybook hired and M-Edge.

I don't think Bookeen's been lying. I think that their JIT production method is a bit flawed.

FUD! Do you believe the FBI killed Kennedy and covered it up? Do you also believe the US didn't actually land on the moon?

Of course they didn't. The rocket exhaust would have melted the cheese and they'd have sunk!

Brilliant. I've never seen that argument before. But, now I agree... it had to have been staged.

Post Stuck in Customs

Here's the email I got today Re: the 2nd shipment:

' 2nd 1/2 stuck in Customs.‏ From: shop@naebllc.com (shop@naebllc.com) Sent: Fri 7/11/08 4:21 PM To: Dr

Greetings

The 2nd half of the order is currently stuck in customs due to some missing paper work. We expect it to clear customs and arrive by Tuesday the 15th. We will start shipping immediately.

I will be sending out credit authorization expiration notices tomorrow on the 12th. If you ordered your unit before 6/12/08 you should be receiving notice that you need to renew.

Heh, whats so unreasonable about my comment?

I am the manufacturer and I have a very limited amount of product. Do I prioritize the customers paying 400 euro or the ones paying 375 dollars who will wait anyway. Or are you actually telling me that bookeen cannot make 30 covers in three weeks?

Anyway, I am happy that we have news on those units and look forward to getting my cybook

Calamity,

I don't think Bookeen *makes* the covers. I believe they have someone who specializes in leather work make them. And if that's the case, it could be that the supplier fell behind.
