I am very glad to hear your good news - esp. about the A/C - as we're getting our first extended dose of summer weather, starting tomorrow, when temps for the (un)forseen future will be above 85 F, and usually in the 90's F every day .....

One of my cats also sleeps on the fabric covered office chair at my computer desk .... she waits in the hallway every night for me to shut things down & turn out the light ... so she can hop up and go to sleep ....

That's Sweatpea. She use to do the same with my chair or if I took to long a break I come back and find her asleep and have to move her to the sofa.

My goodness it is hot! You're weren't kidding! The A/C has yet to shut off in hours. It's cool in the apartment. Hubby's dealing with a gout flare up again so he is sleeping. Putting the fan like you told me too is keeping the bedroom at 72F so I think the mini A/C will get it cool enough to sleep in. The master bedroom is too warm so we decided to use it for storage. The bedrooms are the same size it's just master has a bigger closet so you see it's not very master. I miss my central air and I will never again rent a place without it.

Maisy has always done well in relocating but this was a first for Sweetpea and I was worried too about her. I was also worried about the extended hotel stay. They were stressed but they did okay. It took them a bit to understand this place was not another hotel room but a more permanent move at least for 10 months. Bringing in the bed and familiar furniture really helped them relax now they sleep mostly at night but I do have boxes up against the cabinets. I need to baby proof them if possible.The only thing they miss in the sun. There isn't much here at all for them.

They are going to love the new sofa and chair. It's going to be fun keeping the little one from using her claws on them.

1. You can baby proof cabinets with velcro - get the strips with adhesive coatings and line the cabinet doors.

2. Your real test is coming up - humidity levels are rising this week along with temps - keeping the air moving over your skin is the key to feeling cool - esp. if you have to raise the thermostat setting to let the unit cycle off. Also - minimize use of incandescent bulbs and any other heat sources, and keep your front door shut as much as possible.

3. The more you unpack, the calmer the cats will be - it will 'smell' like home, and they will have familiar stuff to perch on.

So the air conditioner arrived and the box had a huge hole in it. So we took it out of the box and I saw goop leaking out or into the vent

Called Amazon and they are sending a replacement and they are picking up the old one.

Hubby wanted to plug it in and test it! I said no way.

Oh wow! Tell hubby to only plug it in if he does not want to go to work tomorrow. I would not trust that to cool my root celler.

He hasn't found a job yet but yeah I don't know what the goop is. It's scary!

Some good news our new sofa and recliner arrived and as you can see the little one thinks it's comfy, My oldest is leery but she will come around and Hubby loves his recliner. He's napping in it.

The delivery people took out our neighbor by the stairs hallway light. So hubby ran down to the office after they left to let them know. The neighbor was cool about it.

It really is comfy. It's so big in the store it looked normal size compared to all the oversize furniture but it's the biggest sofa I have owned.

I just looked over and my two furbabies are laying together on the sofa. Now that is rare! They never lay within 2 feet of each other unless they have to. It must be the fumes of the sofa. It's giving me a headache I can't wait for it to wear off.

Personally I do not think they make normal size (smaller) sofa's today. Even a loveseat looks over sized.

Are you cleaning the stove?

I only clean my stove when I can open all windows take all animals out and sit outside so I do not have to smell the fumes.

The cats are just putting there mark on the sofa.

No I haven't used it enough for cleaning. The sofa and recliner are brand new so it smells like factory glue still. it gave me a headache.
I'm sure the smell will go away.

Yes it's a slow process! We still have over 75% of stuff in storage. Today the weather was nice wasn't it? Only 82 and light rain. Cool the place off to a nice 75 in the backrooms and 70 in here.
