Harry I'm curious ... how did you realise that this book was self-pubbed?

When I look at the Amazon Product Details I see:

So how does this ebook differ from the others that we post and haven't personally read. I'm a trifle confused

The fact there's no publisher listed means that it's a self-published book. If it's a traditionally-published book, there'll be a line immediately above the "Sold by" line saying "Published by", with the name of the publisher.

I wonder how many of those I may have posted in this thread over the months, because if I see a book that suits this thread I post it. I may or may not have read it - it's free or cheap and is a Mystery etc.

To clarify, we've nothing against recommending self-published books, but because there are such an awful lot of free ones (most of which are complete crap) we do request that a self-published book is only recommended if you've personally read and enjoyed it. See the first post in the thread for more details.

Oh, I always thought that self pubs were ok to post just as long as we were not the author or posting on their behalf. I always just post whatever I find.

Depends on the thread. You can post whatever you want in this forum, but in these monthly threads we ask people only to post details of self-published books if they've personally read them. This is very clearly stated in the first post of the thread, as you can see for yourself.
