I'm on a Lenovo X61 laptop running Windows XP. Other programs like converlit and amberlitconvertor work fine. What should I do next Kovid? I've reinstalled both calibre and librs500 3 times with the same result. The only difference I can tell is I took the Service Pack update before installing calibre this time. When calibre was working (prior to the reformat)I had not taken the Service Pack update for XP. |

wait for 0.4.73 (in a few days) and then try. If it crashes, find the file calibre.log and post it here

Since it is Russified now, I will not be able to figure out which encoding fonts need to be used in Calibre to display cyrillic without Russification. Regards, redduke |

Hi,
After applying unicode font patch, when I upload files to my reader via calibre, I have a couple of problems. 1. When I upload new books to my device, the collections/series info is not stored. How do I get around this? I've heard you can use collections on the Sony reader Ebook Library software, but I can't figure out how. 2. Old collections are not deleted. I deleted books from one of my collections so the colleciton is empty, but is retained. How do I fix this problem? Thank you. ETA: turns out, it's not the only problem. several files wouldnt open, with the triangle warning sign showing up. They now only appeared if i look under the actual drive/folders, not in ebook library or calibre.. one of the files linked to a different file, and would show up as something messed up when i do chkdsk on g:. After trying to fix it, I get the Invalid Format warning on starting up and wil prolly have to wipe the reader again. Last edited by seajewel; 06-29-2008 at 08:16 PM. |

I installed the latest update over the .73 install and now the files will convert from .lit to lrf, but there seems to be a problem. Tried with several old .lit files too.

You need to register to be able to post. After registering and logging in, create a ticket and attach one of the lit files that is causing a problem.

Thank you, Kovid, did try to send you a 'ticket', this was new too, the learning curve is steep indeed. Hope I succeeded.
Thanks again. |

Kovid, sorry to bother you again, but I really would like to solve the problem I am having with Calibre 4.74. Yesterday created ticket number 835, but did not see it in trac, guess I did not do it right. I saw your ticket, and already uploaded the fix in version 0.4.76. It's at http://calibre.kovidgoyal.net/ticket/835 you couldn't see it because it had been closed.

Should the program convert text to html
I have been playing with calibre and am having trouble.
I can convert a text file to LRF and create the OPF file without any worries. But I wanted to save a HTML version and when I save to disk as only HTML it saves an empty file. I tried with a few other conversion formats and always saves an empty file in the format I chose. Am I on the wrong track or should Calibre be saving the ebook as a single file. Ta |

calibre doesn't generate HTML versions. You can do this from the command line using the command
Code:
markdown-calibre file.txt |
