Dumb suggestion though. Change the replace string from ending in 9/N to 9/5

I knew you said anything about this, somewhere in the back of my head, but I could not find it in bed, with my 6 inch tablet.
Somehow my reader lost connection with wifi, and when I go out at 3 a.m. to find my fassword,because I simply can't sleep when such a problem occurs (even when I didn't plan to sync at 3 am, not even read..) and it is not solved.. but the 5 is a part of my 32 digit key.. so couldn't reconnect without your solution,which I could not find...
Just wondering how much people didn't read it also..and try to sync at vacation or somewhere else they can't re-apply the patch, and I have checked all the patches called in previous pages and they all have the 9/N error,
Dear people, when apply the patch, or post new ones based on the first one, don't forget to change the patch like PeterT suggested, because if you not, you will ending with an N in your virtual keyboard in stead of a 5 !

Reviving an old thread...
Having been on 3.1.1 with my Kobo Aura HD for a while now, but curious about a firmware upgrade, I can't discern as to how I initially modified the reader such that it has blocked all updates since then, while allowing for syncs for and Pocket and such.

Can anyone confirm any of the methods here working for, say, versions 3.11 and beyond?
