Correct. And I doubt it is something that Kobo will add.

I wanted to look for a word in the dictionnary so from the home screen, I choose the "suppléments" menu at the bottom of the screen and then "dictionnaire" and got the following message " Désolés, le dictionnaire ne peut pas être utilisé de cette manière. Pendant que vous lisez, appuyez longuement sur un mot pour voir sa définition dans le dictionnaire Français" (Sorry, the dictionnary cannot be used that way. While reading, long press on a word to see its definition in the dictionnary).
So if it can't be used by opening it on the home screen, why propose that option ? Is it a dangerous disease to want to search words in the dictionnary ? I was looking for "idiosyncrasies" that was not found so I search "idiosincrasy" and though I understood the definition wanted to have the exact word in French : not found even with "idiosyncrasy" (idiosyncrasie in French) so I went to the magnifying glass to search it and obtained exactly the same error message as the previous one. An other one : I looked for "tommy-gun" => not found then I was able to find "tommygun" : "use a tommy gun" thanks to google I now know what a tommy gun is ![]() So far no more going back to sleep by itself just after awakening ![]() |

Different dictionaries are licensed we believe in different manners. For instance if you select English as the language, the search will work.

For some of the major items, yes. Currently, ReadingFooter, line spacing/height, font size, right and left margin, light steps in 1% increments, search in library by default, and long paragraph bug fix are working.
Other patches are likely going to wait on Metazoa -- I tried to replicate the allow TypeGenius for all fonts patch and finally gave up. I seldom use any font other than Charis SIL or Deja Vu Serif so it was not a big enough deal for me to spend that much time on. Check the Kobo Patcher thread in the KoboDeveloper's Corner for breaking news ( https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=220171 )... Regards, David |

I do fiddle enough with my Kobo ereaders that factory resets are quite common which is possibly why I tend to get firmware updates fairly early in the cycle. Being in Canada might be another item in my favour as well. Regards, David |

With firmware 3.1.0 on my Glo, when reading kepubs it seems as if the gap between the chapter heading and the first line of text has disappeared. Has anyone else noticed this?

Both my Aura and Aura HD updated to 3.10 this morning. Cool. I'm new to Kobo so I'll read through the thread and figure out what's new.

Well the kepub reader stylesheet is quite screwed up in this firmware version. There is no vertical space between objects so everything just runs together. Also everything is in the same sized font, book title, chapter headings, text, everything. What a mess.
Looks like I will have to either stick to reading epubs until it is fixed or go back to 3.0.1. Edit: Luckily not every kepub is affected, perhaps most are not, but some are being displayed very differently with this firmware version. Last edited by GeoffR; 12-05-2013 at 03:13 PM. |
