Kindle Paperwhite Trade-In $122

Received my Trade GC yesterday for quoted price of $113.50 like new. Also received the PW2 yesterday and quite happy with it. Only shadowing/blotches I see if if light turned to max. I prefer to keep at 8-9, and see no problems there.

GREAT deal!! So happy you got so much for it!

I shipped my Touch in as a trade-in today. They only offered $27 on it though. I think the Touch became the least favorite Kindle all time not long after it was released. I tried to sell it in the Flea Market MR forum but no bites, so $27 is better than nothing, especially since it did little more than collect dust!

I wonder why? The Touch is a great reader, IMHO. Good screen, lots of storage, and TTS.

Totally agree! I sold my Touch only to purchase a used one a month later due to TTS, Audio, 4gb memory. I use it as my backup library, sending most books there,, and only downloading from MYK by the month to my PW2.

I, like others had hoped the new PW2 would have the audio back since Amazon purchased Audiobooks, but we all know that didn't happen.

Yes, the Touch was a great Kindle, though there were inconsistencies with screens. My Touch was okay but some people said their screens were too dark or too tan. Unfortunately, two years later there isn't much demand for them I guess. I tried to sell mine via the MR Flea Market, but no one was interested. Rather than sell it on eBay, I decided to use the trade in option.

I was trying to get $50 with shipping included in the CONUSA. I knew that was a bit high, but you tend to ask high then bargain with buyers. I was thinking I would eventually settle for around $40 with shipping included. I left it advertised for over a week but got no response. I could have put it on eBay, but by the time I paid the eBay and PayPal fees it probably would have been no more profit than the trade in.

I sold my mom's touch on eBay when she inherited the PW1 when I bought the PW2.

We got $70 for the Touch and lighted cover. Not too bad.

Yes Harry I been watching th Flea Market here & local. Torn between a Basic which has everything but a light or PW which has everyting but talking/reading abilities.
Basic I thinking about $35 PW1 about $50 price range. But with the Hight turn in prices ...sigh

Question on Amazon Trade in for those that have done this:

When you reset your tablet, ereader or anything with your wi-fi encrypted info are you confident the info can't be retrieved. I am thinking of computers when you delete info if not deleted/erased 7 times or so the info can be retrieved. Worrier here.

Also did everyone get the gift card they were expecting? Were you denied all together or lower amount?

Thanks. I am thinking of trading in several electronic items like an Ipod nano, Android etc., not a Kindle, but this is where I read about it first.

I got the amount I thought I would for my Kindle Touch. As far as Kindles go, I'm confident in doing a factory reset to clear off all personal stuff. I probably wouldn't be as confident with a tablet or computer.
