Yes, exactly that. You'll need to install a Calibre plug-in first (Google for "Apprentice Alf" to find it). Once you've done that the process is totally transparent.

All you do is:

Buy the book with "Kindle for PC".
Drag it from the "My Documents\My Kindle Content" folder to Calibre.
Tell Calibre to send it to your Sony.

It really is that simple.

Calibre knows that the Sony wants an epub and will do the conversion itself.

The Murder Room, publishers of classic crime fiction, are having a summer sale. All books at £2.99 until 13th August.

I don't know if I have just missed this, or if this is new, but I just noticed that pretty much all of the Shirley Rousseau Murphy/Joe Grey cat mysteries are at reduced prices: $0.99 -$2.99. These were previously DTB published by HarperCollins, at least the ones I checked out. I remember reading and enjoying a few of the first ones in this series many years ago, so will probably buy a few more at these prices to see if I still like them.

The "sale" - if it's a sale - seems to be at Amazon, with lots of the series on sale, and with some on sale at Kobo and BN. Here are links, all US, hopefully affiliate-tag free, since in each case I started with the top-level URL, typed in by hand, and then searched from there:
