I have, for the last couple years, been using a Palm T|X as my book reader. Over the holiday I bought a Sony PRS700BC. I chose it because I read in all light conditions without a supplementary light and e-ink technology was supposed to supply better clarity. My goal in getting a reader with a larger screen was to improve the amount of information I could see about a book in the index. I can't say I'm thrilled. The bigger unit is almost 3 times heavier (13.4oz compared to 5.0oz and yes, I did weight them), the indexing ability is only marginally better and the interface is much slower. I knew going in the Sony did not have auto-scroll, which I use all the time.

I don't see the larger screen (heavier weight) as being a good thing. Because I do a lot of reading at night laying down, the bigger/heavier reader is a real pain the the wrist and at my glasses' focal length, I'm doing a lot more eye/head movement (might not be a bad thing, just irritating). The T|X I can hold easily with one hand while staying toasty under the covers. The bigger, more awkward Sony, requires more support than a single hand can provide for comfortable reading and I have to poke an arm out every so often to turn the page.
Ugh.

You an my girl friend are both waiting for that. She reads on an iPhone or an old iPod Touch and a Asus netbook. Well I think it is Asus, but come to think of it, it could be Acer.

Anyway for now she keeps grabbing my Galaxy 7 so I hope Apple hurries.
