Brilliant update! When they added 'Search in Book' in 1.9.11 I thought: what more do I need? Then it eventually dawned on me... we need cut-and-paste for search. Then along came 1.9.12 with, what can I call this, highlight and search? Brilliant!

BTW, I'm not experiencing any of the issues mentioned above. I've been issue-free since 1.9.10.

Well, for me at least, while there isn't any way to organize books, it's only a toy, no real use.

The reading stats issue I was having with 1.9.11 is still present with 1.9.12. Since updating from .10 to .11, I have finished reading eight books, bringing my total number of finished books to 42. Each time I reboot my Kobo, it resets the number of read books to 34.

So after updating to .12, I manually re-marked these eight books as read by flicking through them and making sure they turned up in reading stats. I checked Reading Stats, and it said "42 Books Finished". I went off to do something else. By the time I came back, my Touch had turned itself off. Turning it back on, I checked Reading Stats again, and it now says "34 Books Finished". Again.

And yes, all these books are still marked as Finished when in Library view, and Calibre shows them as being in the Read collection. It only started with .11, and it's continued with .12.

I only use sideloaded books, and they're all on a PQI 8GB microSD card (class 2).

e: Oh, and probably worth noting that I don't seem to have the '2 page turn and close' issue.

Xenocide by Orson Scott Card. Downloaded from the Kobo Store. The chapter I was in was 127 pages at my settings. It just seems a bit more sluggish when I sleep the unit or when I come out of sleep before it is responsive and lets me switch pages. Not a biggie but just thought it was strange that performance would become worse not better with a new firmware. Could just be the book or chapter like i said.

I agree it seems slower going to sleep (doesn't really bother me since I'm not planning to do anything with it after I put it to sleep), but my wake up seems fine (the impt part).

Is anyone having problems with the Shortlist being wiped out after ejecting from the computer?

Yup, only when calibre is running though (I think) and not every time.
Are you using Calibre?

edit: Just as frankieGom said, it also wipes reading status/place too. It's appeared before .12 as well.
I also encountered a bug after a reboot where it decided it was new, lost/cleared its config file (maybe I didn't eject properly?) and wanted to be setup. I copied my config file from a backup and everything was fine, except for the lost shortlist/reading position info.

We haven't seen this in testing. I'll have the team look into it.

I haven't looked into it in detail but I do seem to have a problem with the short list and the read books list getting wiped out from time to time.

The ability to hilight a word or name in the text and then search for all the occurrences in the book is exactly what I asked for in the feature request thread, so I'm happy to see that. Thanks Kobo dev team!

Like GVC2031 I have been issue free since the 1.9.11 and feel fortunate I made the choice to go with a KT.

Thanks, man. I've mentioned it before in the .11 thread and no one else has had this issue, so I don't know what's going on. I might try a reset later on and see if that helps. I would've done it before now, but it would involve manually marking 42 books as read for it to show up in Reading Stats, and then shortlisting everything unread.

I'm kind of lazy.

I updated to 1.9.12 today, and for the most part it's working fine (main memory book storage only for me, I haven't tried a micro-SD card again since I had to do a factory reset after my initial experiment).

The one thing that is worse is the low-battery warning. I've had it pop up a couple of times while reading when the battery is at 80% capacity. I just turn the KT on again and keep reading.

Okay, looks like a factory reset has fixed my bizarro reading stats issue. It's remembering how long I've been reading and how many books I've read now. So it looks like I'm completely bug free for the first time in three firmware versions. Sweet!

Sorry for the false alarm on that bug, Sameer.
