Well, get with the times! We were all assimilated a long time ago, and Brother has gotten as Big as he's liable to get before it all collapses around him. (The imminent collapse of BB is, of course, currently being offset by the effort to achieve stability through hypnopoedia, commercial saturation and infinite distraction. So no one's likely to notice.)

At any rate, smartphones aren't any more or less invasive than computers, ISPs, Facebook, Safeway, BP, Microsoft, Adobe, iTunes, the Kindle Store...
