Hey Snow! Are you a girly girl or a boy with a girly name? (Corpulent One's description, LOl) Maybe he/she will answer now and give us the information we all so wish to hear.

Actually I was responding to boris' pronoun usage, and I assume he knows what he's talking about, being really close to Entourage and stuff. (though obviously not an employee, since he's still posting here)

True, I suppose I can just claim I was copying boris' pronoun gender, though in my head I probably said "he" without the prompting. I do seem to recall, though, that there was one female staffer here, and I could never remember which one it was.

I must admit I always assumed Snow was male. Perhaps chauvenistic of me. sladwig was the female staffer in charge of PR (press releases, blog posts, the Twitter feed, and the Facebook page) that sometimes posted in the forums, particularly the Release Notes.

If gender matters, Snow can set the record straight.

Well Boris, you asked how many people WOULD have purchased an eDGe? I was one of those. I was still waiting for my tax situation to settle and grad school issues to resolve, but I was VERY excited about the dual book idea. I still am. I think it;s absolutely an outstanding idea for students and educators. Its potential is sky high.

In my opinion, the failure of Entourage would just be one more example of the best product not surviving in the market, e.g. Betamax, DAT audio, etc. Very sad, if the speculation is true, and it's hard not to assume it is. If it weren't, given the situation (people reluctant to recommend the product to people who are interested, people trying to sell their used products, etc.), I can't imagine someone from Entourage wouldn't step in to calm the waters.

I hate this.

But since I haven't been banned yet for calling boris a trollop and trying to sell my sneakers, I now fear no retribution. Mwahaha.
Poor, Snow. I made nearly the exact same comment this past summer. Snow is indeed a man.

And all it would take to calm the waters is some honest information. But none is forthcoming. I think the next event will be the sudden disappearance of these forums. Watch and wait.

"Information" I don't think is enough at this point. "We're working hard on Froyo" sounds good, but, as someone already commented, might just be a statement to string us along.

I think at this point we need screenshots, demo videos, and feature lists if it's Froyo, or specs & renders/pics of the next generation product if they're about to launch a new product. An official press release would be meaningful, too.

Another "we're working as hard as we can to get Froyo out" or "we're just busy" statement just isn't going to cut it.

ditto for me! It seems like they would want to at least give some information out, especially since they have some long-time customers and champions (like Boris) of their product since before it came out. You would think they would like to keep those people happy by communicating regularly.

Er, they generally needed coal or wood to make the steam in those...

DAT audio
DAT was murdered - the record companies were scared that people making perfect digital copies would cut into their business, so they forced the manufacturers to put in a no-copy flag, that is, to cripple the machines. This only applied to consumer-grade hardware. Professional-grade DAT machines were quite successful; they were obvioulsy much more expensive. There's a very long list of technolgies that the record companies have tried to kill, starting with radio in the 20s (why would anyone buy records if they could hear the music for free on the radio?), and reel-to-reel tape recorders inthe 50s (the reason that announcers started talking over the beginnings and endings of songs. They usually didn't succeed, but they did kill DATs.

Oh, I assumed that "Snow" means a cocaine freak, and I don't care about the gender (except for grammatical purposes), or about the drug, either, for that matter. But I guess the name could refer to something worse, like dandruff.

Poor DAT! A moment of silence for DAT!
