I'm using Dolphin Browser HD. I don't think it really mattered which webpage I was on, the up and down arrows scrolls the page accordingly and one can see the scroll slider on the right side moving with each finger press of those arrows. There was no colored bar visible until I clicked unto the left arrow and it position instead all the way over on that side of that webpage. If I then hit the right arrow afterwards, the colored box disappeared. I could never hit an arrow to get to a link or an area/box where I can type where that was applicable. I'm always using landscape mode with the Acer A500. Maybe that has something to do with it. |

I wonder if we may have different browser settings, because the arrow keys (on the bottom right of the keyboard) only take me from link to link on web pages. I can move from character to character with the arrow keys while typing this message, but I never see the colored tab that shows up like when I touch the screen. I did notice that when I hold down the arrow key longer, it will jump words. Last edited by DreamWriter; 01-21-2012 at 02:59 PM.

Thanks for trying to help. In an earlier post you wrote you were able to figure out how to drag the box near where you wanted. Did you drag it by touching the screen and moving it or did you drag it by hitting something on the keyboard? The return period on my purchase expired and I am happy with the A500. Why would anyone want the A200 at the same price as the A500 which has more features (ie. HDMI)? Last edited by robertc88; 01-21-2012 at 07:20 PM. |

I drag the colored tab into the position I want by touching with my finger or a stylus. I actually haven't used the keyboard very much yet. I got it because I thought I may do some writing when out and about. I'm not sure if I'll use it much when web-browsing. If I discover anything that may help you, I'll let you know. I find it odd that we're having such different results using the same keyboard with the same tablet and browser. My A500 isn't rooted, and it's running Android 3.2.1. I'm using Dolphin Browser HD version 7.3.0, which I believe is the latest. You too? Perhaps there's something different in Dolphin's settings that may account for the different behavior.

I have updated my Iconia to ICS and the improvement in performance is quite amazing. I used to have hangups on the keyboard, and dolphin would frequently crash on me. Now, everything is super fast.

Personally I won't go for the Acer A500 because of quality. I think Asus Transformer Prime is a better tablet and it could be converted as if a laptop when docking station is added.

Last I looked, the 32GB Transformer Prime is selling for around $500. I lucked out and paid only $230 for my new 32GB Acer A500 in December. (I had purchased the 8GB Acer A500 at Best Buy but they ran out of stock and couldn't deliver, so they substituted the 32GB model for the same price!) I've seen great deals on refurbished A500s too. I bought a bluetooth keyboard designed for Android, so it can do everything that the Prime with docking keyboard can do. It comes down to price for me, but for someone else that may not matter so much. I'm extremely happy with my Acer Iconia A500 (and my A100 too). If I wanted to pay $400-$500 for a tablet, I would give the Transformer Prime serious consideration, though.

For $400 to $500 I would just buy a Windows tablet.

Just received my clear TPU case from Overstock.com, fits OK but I'd be happier if it was half way between the soft silicone and this TPU plastic. Should be fine in the long run though.

I am looking for a tight-fitting silicone or TPU case for my 7" Acer A100, so if anyone can recommend one that fits well I'd appreciate it. I'd love to get Acer's Bumper Case for the A100, but when you add on shipping and tax it's almost $40!

Are you looking for scratch protection or impact protection? If you're looking for scratch protection, try a skin from Decalgirl. I've got one on my Pocket Edge, and it works great. If you go for the matte option, it hides fingeprints and make the device less slippery and easier to hold. I was going to get one for my A100, but since my foray into GPS navigation, I decided on a case/stand instead. |

For my A100, I'm looking more for impact protection and something that allows for better grip. It doesn't need to be heavy-duty, though. I have a nice leather case for the A100, which I use when I take it away from home because it protects the screen, but it's a little too much for use at home because it does interfere with the touch screen a bit around the edges.
