You need to reboot if you want installed apps to show in "Extras". If you use a home screen replacement (launcher) this will not be an issue. You'll be able to see new installs immediately within the launcher menu. I use MyBackupPro. Titanium Backup is another popular one. |

Thanks SCION, I was just playing around with the home button and I had been
choosing softkeys for home. I had read something while doing the rooting and thought that was right. But I tried the "home" choice and Angry Birds appeared in Extras. ![]() One thing if you could, I noticed that there is an "uninstall" button within the properties of ABs. Does this device really work in apps from the Market? EDIT: One more thing SCION, where do you backup to? I believe the file system for the SD card is the same as VISTA, could I backup to a folder on my PC? Or, maybe, move the file after the backup? Last edited by roger_15; 01-10-2011 at 10:37 AM. Reason: One more question, lol |

I acquired from the Market and I use the uninstall option, will it uninstall the app completely? Or, like in a Microsoft OS, leave little bits and pieces of the app all over the place. We do have limited space on our nooks and I would like to keep it clean. BTW: Thanks for your help. ![]() |

![]() I don't have something I can test now, but there may be a possibility that the app folder (with data) would remain. That's not necessarily a bad thing in some cases. You may uninstall something and then realize that you wanted something within that folder. You could then re-install if needed. Or maybe you shouldn't have uninstalled it, but should have upgraded to a newer version. In any event you can always manually delete an app folder if it remains after uninstalling. |

With softkeys, is there any way to get rid of the little arrow which is on the side of the screen (not the ones in the button) as I really never use them and I find it quite annoying as it is ALWAYS there.

I don't recall exactly. In the settings for SoftKeys, uncheck "Running Services" or something simliar. I don't have the app installed.

Usually in the settings of the app (browser) is an option to make it the default. Or when given the option of choosing which browser you want to use, check the box at the bottom of the prompt window. Apparently the text is white on white so you can see that what it says.

I re-read your post. No, you can't assign the "Web" icon to another app. That would be fab! You can make a browser the default by going into the settings for the app. So, if you clicked on a hyperlink that browser would open.

Thanks for all your help!
Do I understand it right, that Live Wallpapers only work if I change the home launcher to another than the standard one? If so, how do I so? |

Once you have your new launcher, you can install and run live wallpapers. |
