Okay, now it's Christmas morning, 8:50am, and I've just finished my second coffe and am thinking of getting out of bed. The Loved One has walked the dogs and is upstairs carving the turkey by the sounds of it. I better get up I suppose. Nothing to do but shower, cut up cold meat, swim, and await visitors. Then it's all eat, drink & swim. Sun, humidity, warmth, patchy-but-irrelevant rain (in the pool you're already wet)...

Okay, I'm getting up...nnnnnnow!

Just finished wrapping eleventy hundred presents.

Me: "I thought we were going to take it easy with gifts this year."

Wife: "Oh those are clothes. I was going to by the clothes anyway."

Erm.... ok. <runs to check CC bill, then faints>

Mmmm, christmas morning... *yawn* Hashbrowns and coffee for breakfast, watched toddler go googly-eyed at his new singing-and-dancing IgglePiggle (and if you don't know what that is, thank your lucky stars!), which he first saw in the shops and uncharacteristically went nuts over not getting immediately. THen the traditional 'why the hell won't this toy work?' frantic thing with his new specially-for-toddlers game console. Now hearing blings and 'oh no!' coming from the lounge as I rest up...

Listening to 6 children playing with their new toys and quarreling about who gets to play with what and whom. We did let them out in the rain last night for a while, but unfortunately everyone survived

Waiting for the show to begin. My nieces are giving a concert with the new karaoke set one of them got. They have handed photocopied invitations and got us to send our confirmations. After the show, we eat. Again

I am sitting amidst the shredded wrappings (my cat is shredding them) from the presents, smelling the turkey in the oven. Heavenly! Even if it is pouring rain outside.

Just had biscuits and gravy (wife from TX = epic win) and trying to decide what to do first; I have 3 days with precisely zero responsibilities.

The options are:

Set up mobile studio and record music
Work on rebuilding my lost-to-restructuring Linux From Scratch project for my website
Study for CompTIA certs
Make the netbook into a portable network attack box...erm, I mean network penetration tester

All of these things need to be done (well maybe not the last one), just not sure in which order.

I know, it's Christmas Day, and the general wisdom is "enjoy gifts and do as little as possible". Well, my own personal mantra this year is: "I have three days off, no school, no work, time to clean house!" To that end, the dishes are all done, the dining room cleaned, the laundry started, the bed stripped (except for the comforter that the Calico is wrapped in, I don't have the heart to move her). But I had to sit down and take a break, my asthma is demanding it (it's been acting up due to that nasty cold). Believe it or not, except for the asthma part, I'm having a great time. I have my BlackBerry in music mode with headphones on and both Glee soundtracks cued up and am just bopping around having fun. So now y'all all know just how odd I really am
