I'm guessing that the Contest will start in a few days, and I suppose there will be the usual concern over whether or not a new purchase will end up being a kepub.

Bleh once again I only bought 1 book from Kobo this past month and that was only because the 50% discount code worked in India. I'm not very hopeful that the new contest will be any better than the last one

My guess is that the distribution of codes may change a little, but that as part of the general tightening up that allows contest codes to be used only in Canada, the UK and US, we won't see again the days when high discounts were easily gamed, nor high multi-use or multi-account codes.

It was always too good to last forever. I was surprised it lasted as long as it did.

This starts FRIDAY--so if it is not FRIDAY where you are, the codes may not work at all, but they should work starting Friday on the various listed books. The lists for each are about three pages long (you have to hit show more results to see them all).

There's some decent backlist sf/fantasy in those sale-eligible lists from Judith Tarr (ISFDB, one of my favourite historical fantasy and alt-history authors) and Irene Radford (ISFDB) and Doranna Durgin (ISFDB). That said, it may be more worthwhile to wait for one of BookViewCafés periodic 50% off direct-buy sale specials for those titles, which is how I picked up my Tarrs previously.

I thought you probably were Friday, but mentioned it because sometimes people try the codes without realizing the sales are time-restricted. Kobo has been pretty consistent with the weekend sales not running over or under, etc.
