Trying to find a way to get home from the Paris meet-up.
The Eurostars have be cancelled today and - they've just announced - tomorrow.
Now I'm looking for a flight. It is all rather exasperating.

arg ! good luck patricia, i really hope you can find a solution that will be not too expensive and not too annoyingly complicated. and i DEFINITELY hope that eurostar will pay for all your extra expenses. this is really quite ridiculous. please let me know how things go, and of course if there is anything at all i can do to help please let me know ! i have crossed everything i possibly can cross that you can get home tomorrow with minimal expense and aggravation.

Problem is, it's not something you can anticipate... It's freak weather (which is also why it's such a big problem, they don't really know how to handle it...)

I'm trying to find a present for a 2 year old. Too many choices! I guess it doesn't help that I've only seen her twice since she was born and have no idea what she already has. Also, her mom is my best friend so I'm trying to avoid anything that makes obnoxious noises or would make a big mess. This is going to be harder than I thought.

Hmmm...I'll have to find out if the little one has been introduced to Dora yet. I know there are certain characters that she hasn't been allowed to discover because the parents find them annoying.

I've been browsing toy websites and am leaning toward a View Master Projector. I had something similar as a kid and loved to just stay in my room and watch the images on the ceiling.

Or maybe a sit n' spin....

I have found that most two year olds are more enamored with the box than the contents. So, empty boxes of various sizes will work well.
