I reject that VPN has anything to do with it - something else must be at play. Kobo is not very smart but I would guess the last thing it would do is deny its customers the ability to buy ebooks when travelling outside of their resident country ...

I just went traveling and purchased a book without any trouble, but I have separate accounts set up in different countries instead of having only one account and changing the country when I need to travel.

I can tell you that it's definitely one use per account, but I haven't been able to use it again in another country using the same account.

I tried another couple of his books in the NZ site and then changed to the UK site and the editions of NZ books aren't sold in the UK. The must have a different publisher there.

My guess is that that accounts for some of the issues you were having....

It seems to me to be accurate and succinct. If you really have a better idea for the title that still includes the element of discussion, I'm willing to consider it.
