what's going on? Can I hit you with a shovel so you'd go to sleep right now?

Instead of Tia Maria, I just called the person concerned by my nightmare, I know now for sure everything's ok, so I can presently enjoy the morning!
I dreamed that my best friend's one year old had a growth sickness of some sort and died at eight years old after years of suffering and vain hope... I can still see the kids eyes... :shiver: I feel like running to them to hold them close, but they're a thousand km away...

But it's a beautiful day today!

Thanks, can't feel the sandpaper under the eyelids anymore. Headache overwriting that pain now

2 am here, gonna pack up, grab the camera and head into town. Might get some nice pictures from drunks falling over each other (Christmas Party season in full swing)

28C = 82.4F vs 28F = -2.2C

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I would offer to split the difference, but I can't handle temps under 20 C = 68F too well

heh, listening to a report about "black friday" in the US on the radio right now. apparently they have to call in the police to keep the crowds under control !! they interviewed some shoppers, now they're interviewing a guy who lost his job and now is homeless ; they asked him if he wasn't a bit sickened to see such rampant consumption in his situation, and he said no, but if he gets another job he'll hold on to it with his teeth.

vcat, i'm glad your nightmare will disappear in the light of day ! and kcat, i hope you can get some sleep tonight... it's hellish not to be able to sleep ! some advice, be sure to turn of computer and television at least one hour before going to bed (the light prevents you from getting sleepy, something about inhibiting something in the brain, melatonin perhaps ?), no alcohol or cigarettes either at least one hour before. then do something quiet, like... read !

call your friend sweetie and share your concerns. it certainly cannot hurt. when my sister's family was stationed in Japan I started having nightmares that my oldest niece was choking. I finally called her about it. the very next night they woke up with the girl gasping for breath in an asthmatic wheeze. after a trip to the ER it turned out that she was allergic to the paper on the walls. it put them at the top of the list for government housing and they moved out of their quarters that day. my sister and I have never been particularly close so it's not even an issue of me having picked up casual indicators in conversation

a WalMart employee was killed in a stampede of incoming customers last year. I don't understand why everyone isn't sickened at this display of rampant consumerism. if it were up to me, everything but basic services and perhaps entertainment would be closed this weekend so that people would turn off and completely engage in activities of thanks, and enjoyment of the season and their families

that makes as much sense as the "gas out" days. people think that they are making a huge impact on the economy, but the only impact is on themselves. they are just describing/endorsing an ultra orthodox Jewish Sabbath observation with their "movement"
