![]() I like my meals to be ethnic. Just because I live in one country, there is no need to only eat that country's cuisine. We try to eat a different country's food every day (usually dinner) and never have the same country twice in one week, other than Japan. You can take a simple can of red beans, a can of chopped tomatoes, a can of corn, and an onion, and with various spices and herbs, make different tasting dishes tasting as if they come from six or seven different countries, and do it all in 15 minutes! Add a little rice or pasta, perhaps some chicken, shrimp, or ground meat, and have Mexican chili, Cajun jambalaya, Virgina BBQ, African stew (leave out the elephant. Very high in cholesterol,) Australian Baked beans, or a dozen others. All low calorie and almost zero cholesterol, quick and easy to make (15-20 minutes,) and tasty! Not that I want to eat this combo every night, but it certainly fills in when I have little time to cook. And all of it goes well with tea! Right now I'm drinking a mug of Twining's Prince of Wales. A surprisingly good cup of tea! Stitchawl |

You are a food connoisseur
![]() You know so much and you cook. The diet you have at your home sounds fantastic. ![]() I hope my wife won't read this post. The poor Angel is on her own when it comes to cooking. Although, I am not demanding at all, as long as I can chew it and it is not spicy ![]() Even my vocabularies in foreign languages mirror this attitude. My vocabulary in Hebrew was never great, but I could write down lectures in math, physics, engineering in Hebrew. When I was in a supermarket....all the shopping was done based on visual and tactile senses ![]() It is slightly better in English, today that's because I got more experience. My English vocabulary is ten folds bigger but when we go to an unfamiliar restaurant I am lost. My better 2/3s, who albeit being ESOL teacher has smaller vocabulary in many areas, is my guide. My usual and only excuse is that they don't eat all this food in fantasy and sci-fi books! or discuss food in astronomy books - the sources of my English vocabulary. Another cup of Ceylon. |

I spend half the day somewhere in Bruges, and I had one cup of coffee the entire time I was there. I normally drink a couple cups of tea and 0.75L of water in the morning
![]() I'm still working on my Rooibos samples. I tasted all of them by now, and there are definitely some I like. I'm just going to go through them once more, finishing the samples one by one deciding whether I'll buy this flavour or not. First is Rooibos Persipan. At first I didn't like it very much. But it's actually not that bad. This is a maybe ![]() |

Strawberry fruit smoothie and a banana.
The Hubby loves Thai food so he cooks that a couple of times a week. I'll normally cook something more traditionally American a couple of times a week. Thursday is homemade pizza night. |
