Anyone by Charles Soule is $2 in the US (Kobo, Amazon)
Quote:
Bestselling author of The Oracle Year, Charles Soule brings his signature knowledge—and wariness—of technology to his new novel set in a realistic future about a brilliant female scientist who creates a technology that allows for the transfer of human consciousness between bodies, and the transformations this process wreaks upon the world.

Inside a barn in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a scientist searching for an Alzheimer’s cure throws a switch—and finds herself mysteriously transported into her husband’s body. What begins as a botched experiment will change her life—and the world—forever…

Over two decades later, all across the planet, “flash” technology allows individuals the ability to transfer their consciousness into other bodies for specified periods, paid, registered and legal. Society has been utterly transformed by the process, from travel to warfare to entertainment; “Be anyone with Anyone” the tagline of the company offering this ultimate out-of-body experience. But beyond the reach of the law and government regulators is a sordid black market called the darkshare, where desperate “vessels” anonymously rent out their bodies, no questions asked for any purpose - sex, drugs, crime... or worse.

Anyone masterfully interweaves the present-day story of the discovery and development of the flash with the gritty tale of one woman’s crusade to put an end to the darkness it has brought to the world twenty-five years after its creation. Like Blade Runner crossed with Get Out, Charles Soule’s thought-provoking work of speculative fiction takes us to a world where identity, morality, and technology collide.

John's Scalzi's When the Moon Hits Your Eye is just £0.99 at Amazon UK today.

It's price-matchable at Kobo UK, so just £0.89 there after the price match. At least until Kobo UK also drops its price to £0.99.

"One day, suddenly and without explanation, the moon turns into a ball of cheese.
For some, it’s an opportunity. For others, it’s time to question their life choices. How can the world stay the same in the face of such absurdity and uncertainty?"

The Hungry Gods by Adrian Tchaikovsky is £1 in the UK (Amazon only, but price-matchable on Kobo)
Novella. Part of the latest thematic Terrible Worlds sequence.
Quote:
The Gods have returned to the world.

Amri was a Rabbit, one of a tribe of survivors scratching out an existence in the blasted landscape of a shattered, poisoned world. The Seagull fight, the Pigeon trade and the Cockroach scavenge, but the Rabbit had one rule: If you want to see tomorrow, you run.

But they didn’t run fast enough when a weapon fell from the sky and consumed their home, and now Amri is alone, in the company of a fallen god named Guy Vesten. A god who promises revenge against the three gods who turned against him, and who killed her tribe.

But gods don’t die easily. Guy will need followers, like any god, and warriors to aid him in his quest. And if Amri is to find a place in the world that is to come, she may as well be standing at his right hand, as his priestess…

Two Esslemont Malazan novels on sale, from different series:
Night Of Knives (Malazan Empire #1) by Ian C. Esslemont is £1 in the UK (Kobo, Amazon)
Quote:
Malaz gave a great empire its name, but now this island and its city amount to little more than a sleepy backwater. Until this night. Because this night there is to be a convergence, the once-in-a-generation appearance of a Shadow Moon - an occasion that threatens the good people of Malaz with demon hounds and other, darker things.

Also it is prophesied that the Emperor Kellanved will return this night, and there are those who would prevent that happening at any cost. As factions within the Empire draw up battle lines, an ancient presence begins its all-out assault upon the island. Witnesses to these cataclysmic events include a thief called Kiska, and Temper, a war-weary veteran. Although they do not know it, they each have a part to play in a confrontation that will determine not only the fate of Malaz City but also of the world beyond...
Deadhouse Landing (Path to Ascendancy #2) by Ian C. Esslemont is £1 in the UK (Kobo, Amazon)

New Humble Bundle with works by Charlie Jane Anders and Annalee Newitz.
https://www.humblebundle.com/books/c...witz-tor-books

I think this is pretty much all the long form fiction they've published, and one non-fiction work.

Note that some of these are short stories which are available for free on https://reactormag.com/

US-only, but you can bypass it by changing your region in the account settings. (Let's not bicker about this point again unless you have actual questions on how to do that.)

It's an iffy one for me. I've got some of the novels via Hugo Packets, and most (if not all) of the novellas/short stories via various Tor.com collections (which are free anyway). There's about 5 long form novels and the non-fiction I haven't got, so do I want to pay $18 for 6 long form plus separate novellas without splitting them out of the collections? And any novellas I don't have.

For a different angle, you can crank the donation bar all the way up, and treat it as a donation with a $5.40 tax to Humble Bundle.

Did an analysis:
  • 4 novels and the non-fiction I don't have
  • The anthology I don't have (annoyingly 4 of the stories are included as separate items in the bundle and are collected in Some of the Best From Tor.com editions anyway)
  • 4 shorts I don't have either as separate items or included in collections

So slightly better than I thought, but still not a must-have buy for either of us (himself says there are some he'd read if I got the bundle).

Have a look at what's offered in the various price points and see if you can get what you want cheaper.
