My two little dogs (Shih-tzus) are driving me CRAZY!! We had to cut down a couple of cottonwood trees last year because they were dieing but didn't bother to take out the stumps. Now, I guess they are decaying because they've sprouted a HUGE mushroom patch and the silly dogs keep asking to go out so they can eat the 'shrooms.

My husband thinks they're getting high on them

I'm worried they will get sick.

Mostly, I would just like them to QUIT BUGGING ME!!!!

I missed the whole darned thing.

We didn't go to the sports restaurant like we have in the past two weeks to watch the game. I've decided I'm their good luck charm because every time I've watched their games this year, they've won. I know it's self-aggrandizing, but we fans tend to be superstitious about these kinds of things.

At least everyone else in their division lost so their standing in the division is still the same.

you really need to be careful about the goggies and 'shrooms. some can cause kidney failure, and basically if it isn't a 'shroom you would eat, they should not either. we've had work parties at the local puppy park for mushroom erradication after someones furkid got sick

Actually, Goggies shouldn't eat mushrooms that we hoomins can eat either. Almost all types of mushrooms are toxic too goggies.

That's why I've been going crazy. My husband told me not to worry because the dogs would know whether they were safe to eat, but I know if I dropped a piece of chocolate on the floor they would try to eat it so I don't think his logic is sound.

there is an add for dog insurance ? I think, maybe.... anyway it goes along the lines of; "I drink out of toilet bowls and do not make good dietary decisions, that is why I count on you..." dogs a little bit closer to their wild cousins had/have that ability, but your little furkids are about as domesticated as a dog can get. who knows the amount of dogs that die or end up in the animal emergency room every year due to accidental poisoning. hence the warnings regarding seasonal items such as poinsettias and so on. you need to keep the kids away from the mushrooms. pick the mushrooms, and destroy them. then give the stumps a scrub with some bleach and contact your local extension agency for further advice

Thanks! I'll do that today. And, you are absolutley correct in calling them my furkids. I spend more time with them than I do my human kids!

Who doesnt? I don't speak to my kids at all since they moved out. Well, unless they need to borrow money or something
