Yup - in the winter you can always add another sweater/jacket. Not much you can do with relentless heat!

This morning was beautiful - 64 F! Opened the deck door and had 3 twitching feline noses pressed to the screen! I told them to enjoy it - as the scorching heat wave will arrive this weekend! If I stop posting over the July 4th weekend, it means my keyboard has melted.

Have I mentioned that it's dry? Somehow, I can't remember. By the way, does rain still fall on this planet somewhere?

Fortunately, fireworks have been banned here this summer except in municipal displays.

Heat advisory for tomorrow. Apparently what that means here is that it's going to be mid 90's F. with high humidity, making the heat index STILL less than what my poor Texas friends and family have been suffering through with ambient temps. This is Petunia Festival weekend here though - I expect some poor fools to pass out from heat exhaustion. I don't plan on being one of them, mainly because I plan on doing the art show and that's IT. Jay's not here this year so I don't have to fight the crowds for the carnival/food booths.

90 degrees F. feels like 103, or so the weather channel says. Wouldn't know, haven't braved outside yet. I'm going to have to shortly though, I'm out of several household necessities and I work six - midnight.

Yes - it's falling on the planet right here at the moment. Buckets of it! But don't worry, because in the summer we'll be frying in 40deg C heat. And firework bans are just a way of life here.
My oranges are loving this rain and looking very fat and juicy at the moment, just a pity I can't get out to pick some more right now - but it can't rain forever, can it?
