While driving to work through the hills this morning under an overcast sky the sun found a blue hole to shine through and up lit up the hills. They were gold and on the horizon I could make out the rain showers falling on Sydney. From the top of the range you can see all of western Sydney and listening to the traffic reports of the daily city commute grinding to a halt in the city's gridlocked streets I was thankful for not to having to do that. Have a great day everyone.

If I didn't like you, I wouldn't be on MR, because you are EVERYWHERE on here. As a Greenie should be, of course.

You must have gotten the storms that came through here at 4 this morning. I woke up, and all I knew was that it was dark, waaay too early and I was sitting straight up saying "what the-- " and the dog was giving me strange looks. Then I noticed the lightening and thunder. And then I went back to sleep, despite the fact that it was really loud.

Once I get to sleep, it takes a lot to get me awake again before I'm ready.

It didn't get very hot today, thankfully. It's like the weather just can't make up its mind.

I give up. I had packed away my winter stuff as the weather warmed up. Then, it turned cold and rainy with wind and I had to take it back out again and turn the heater on. It then turned super hot and it became clothing optional weather and I packed it all away again, as I turned the a/c on.

Now, I have some partial work and off days coming up and the weather is a cold 56F (13C) rainy and windy. I was in a sun dress for a half work day today and was really looking forward to sitting on the patio and reading when I got home. It's not suppose to be warm again until next week. [grumble] I wish the weather would make up its mind.

Well, it finally rained. Cool weather. Contemplating not going in sandals to work today, but switching back to shoes. Oy!

Still drizzling 10 miles down the road at 5am. Tapered off as I got into RTP at 5:45. Currently 70F with a high of 87F expected. 24% chance of more storms.

Our "cold" front will give us 2 days with a high of 90 F! Break out the sweaters! Turn off the AC! Sigh.

Then ...... every year in NC - during the week end of July 4th - temps rocket up to 100 F- and stay there for the month!

I am blown away by the view outside our glass wall! It faces west, so we have beautiful sunsets, but this morning, it is glowing blues and silvers, throwing the palm trees into silhouette. I'm going for my camera right now.

My niece and her husband from NC are here. She has been here almost two weeks, but he only got here on Sunday. Even with our rain, they are enjoying the relative coolness compared to NC. They live near you guys in the Chapel Hill area. I think they prefer last winter's snow storms to the relentless heat wave that you guys are having.

Yep. I know that. I spent quite a while trying to work out a quick way to get pics to iPad and then to MR or FB. Good topic for a post in the apple thread. Keep an eye out.
