Are you taking the liquid form? It works faster. Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is what it is over here. (Well, the thought did cross my mind...pharmacists in the family. )

Hey, me too - obviously, I'm in vacation
Now that I know what not to try, I'll go curl up in my pj and watch the horrible French dubbed Heartbreak Ridge while hugging a kleenex box so I can laugh my head off without leaking everywhere... wanna join the party? I'll even warm up chicken soup if you want some!

I have no liquid form available here, but I hated it as a child - such awful taste.. Anyway, the only thing that really helps with flue symptoms is a good old alpha-agonist. Just don't overdose it to often - the effect goes down. And if you are a baby you get a ruined nose mucosa for the rest of your life...

now, what's wrong with you two ? didn't anybody ever tell you you're supposed to get sick when you're *not* on vacation ? sheesh. take your paracetamol with some hot ginger and garlic infusion with honey and lemon, and try to get better before your vacation is over. (i hope you feel better soon, poor babies.)

i think sandwiches go very nicely with soup, personally. but then i love soup and will eat it with almost anything.

seriously, see above, make yourself a note, and stick it in a prominent place so you don't forget next time !

(to be honest, i'm feeling a bit irritated because a friend of mine called me up yesterday and invited me over, and when i got there i discovered the entire house was ill, and should have been quarantined rather than having guests. i can't tell whether it's my imagination or whether i really am feeling a tiny bit feverish today but if i also catch it, somebody is going to pay. )

I'm actually happy it turned around that way. I had a very hard week at university/work and it would have really sucked if I were ill too. Now I can hug the sofa and hang around in the llounge

You probably don't have to, but you will
Alpha agonists bind to the alpha receptors in cells and mimic the action of adrenaline. Which, when applied locally (like in nasal spray) is to constrict the blood vessels. The effect is - your swollen nose is not swollen anymore and you feel like reborn for the next 2-10 hours.
