Well, this is absolutely all I could get from the sports news out of France. Cause for celebration??
"France are in their traditional blue kit while the visiting Irish are in white shirts with green shorts." |

After such blatant cheating hopefully the sounds you are hearing are irish fans going on a rampage.

go ahead and laugh! I was at a Search and Rescue Academy in the 90s in Montana. typically I would show up for training in fatigue pants, a denim sort of shirt, kneepads, hiking boots.... yada yada. the director of the seminar was always dressed to impress and totally did not look like she was suited for a day in the woods. someone made a remark about it once and her very loud response was; "there is no reason we cannot make a fashion statement". morale tanked after that!

BAHAHAHA...
My 'Red Riding Hood' short story is the top result given if I google "werewolf on bike with red riding hood" (geez, the things people search on! And the things I google just out of curiousity to try to work out what someone might actually have been looking for...) |

![]() a blog i used to read would list the most outrageous search requests that would link to it. after he'd done that for a while he started a contest where people had to try to *invent* the most outrageous search result which would link to it. it was one of the best things on the blog. ![]() |

Right now I am lying on my hotel bed, window open, listening to the city intersection six floors below (with amusement when it peakhour gridlocks, and everyone breaks out their mighty car-horns to solve it). I can hear traffic, people, the buzz of pedestrian lights, ans muffled music from either the pool hall across the road, the cafe-bar on the opposite corner, or the other bar around the corner (or maybe it's from one of the many other places and eateries around - it's hard to tell).
The city is noisy! I'd forgotten. The window closed would block it out but... it has its pleasant aspects, at least while I'm not watching crap on telly. Today I bought a kilo of CDmusic (or thereabouts). Remembering that I am not one to give a flying fark about what people might think of my own taste in music, nor those who consider such taste as defining me as a person (I reach stratospheric realms of don't-give-a-farkery rarely reached by those with a pulse), I present to you the contents of my purchase: Rufus Wainwright - Want One Spice Girls - Greatest Hits (don't go there, girlfriend!) Kate Miller Heidke - Little Eve Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road The Decemberists - The Crane Wife Harry Nilsson - Nilsson Schmilsson Madness - The Liberty of Norton Folgate Soundtrack - Across The Universe Rufus Wainwright - Milwaukee At Last!!! (with bonus DVD) About half of these were a direct result of posts by some of you folk (who knew Zelda was such a massive Spice Girls fan, hey?). I found the latest Peter Fox CD but, being a "special import" they wanted AUS$52 for it. Bugger that - I'll have to check out some European (German perhaps?) websites and hope they have an "English" button. The horn section down below has started up again. Amusing. I do miss the blue-green, warm peace of home, but if I'm going to be away, then I don't want a poor facsimile - this roaring orchestra of angry-light-and-sound cityscape is a satisfactory alternative. By tomorrow night I'll be craving Loved company, the calming swell of clear sea, the gentle chatter of birdlife, and the green-under-bluest-blue of a Noosa life. Time for 2-minute noodles and some telly. Obligation-free rest & relexation, with a chance of reading to round it out. Tomorrow...photography (iphonography most likely). Cheers, Marc |
