(Good morning! Today is GoldenFriday!) I'm just about ready to begin my vacation ride. A few chores to finish up today, then pack the saddle bags and leave for the docks tomorrow.
Right now, a nutritious breakfast of croissants and tea... the tea of choice being East India Company's Royal Blend. That stuff really, really tastes good first thing in the morning!

I broke them in half first so all the cholesterol could fall out.

I figure that if my 'usual' diet is basically cholesterol-free and fat-free low calorie eating, breaking the rules for one meal every couple of weeks won't do me any harm, and makes it easier to follow the diet in general. I don't feel as if I'm 'missing' anything.

I was never good at wearing hair shirts or beating myself with wire flails.

I used to drink instant coffee when I first started working, I actually really like the Nescafe Hazelnut ... Then I moved on to Senseo (yuck), and now Dolce Gusto at home and Nespresso at work (the machine actually belongs to the boss, but we steal his coffee when he's not looking ). Hmmm, I should look for another kind of Hazelnut coffee

Nespresso in my cup!

We have one Starbucks shop at the train station in Antwerp. But I know a lot of people who are lobbying for a Starbucks at Ghent train station ... If they ever install one there, I think I'll have to buy a coffee every day Mocha Frappuccino ...

3 weekdays (Tuesday, Thursday and today) this week I woke up at 5 am. Coughing too much. Stupid me. Having a cold didn't stop me doing morning exercises at 06.20 or running to meet my wife after her sport classes in the evening. Why do I have to be so stubborn sometimes/often/always?
Instead of staying in bed, coughing and feeling miserable, I would go downstairs, make a cup of Ahmad Harmutty and come back to bed to read a book.
What a joy. A cup of this tea the first thing in the morning in one hand and a book in another...
