Check what font you're using. If it's "Document Default" change to a different font. It's a known issue that we've discussed at length around here. If you're using a different font, please follow the first post directions for filing a bug.

Dear "Generally Awesome person",
I have a [Device Plugin] Kobo Touch Extended Driver update problem. I am running Calibre x64 version 1.2 currently with [Device Plugin] Kobo Touch Extended Driver 1.4.3 and I am trying to update to 2.2.14.
The error reads:

ERROR: Install Plugin Failed: A problem occurred while installing this plugin. This plugin will now be uninstalled. Please post the error message in details below into the forum thread for this plugin and restart Calibre.

Traceback (most recent call last):

Delete the plugin and reinstall it. That won't affect your settings, they're stored separately.

And to avoid any similar problems in the future, make sure you keep both calibre and your plugins up to date. Calibre does have an update notification that you should turn on to be notified of both calibre and plugin updates.

Dear Jgoguen,
I bought the aura last Saturday, and I've been syncing it with the HD (it is supposed to be a backup, and a lightweight alternative for commuting). I was surprised that one book (among 1871) remained an epub in the aura, while it converted to kepub in the HD. I have also two other Project Gutenberg books that don't convert for both readers though I've tried to improve them with Sigil (one html file per chapter, and a TOC).

Here is the error log

This is a new one for me: I downloaded the Seidensticker translation of Murasaki's Shikibu's Tale of Genji, which is now too heavy for me as a paperback. It reads normally with Adobe and the Calibre reader, but when I sent it to my kobo readers using your extension, the right-hand side of the text is cropped away. It works when I send it as an epub, but it's a pity, since I definitely prefer the kepub look of books, and this is a long haul one. Any idea why it occurs and how I could avoid it? I looked at the coding with Sigil but it is fairly complex and I'm no expert: could it have something to do with this?

I've also seen this elsewhere

but it doesn't seem to be called in the paragraph I was looking at.

EDIT: I can send you my epub if you are interested but it is a modified edition - I downloaded the book from http://ebooks.adelaide.edu.au/m/mura...tale-of-genji/, modified the chapter headings for a better TOC, suppressed the links at the bottom of each chapter, and inserted a couple of missing images.

I've downloaded the copy from Adelaide and converted it to Kepub and it displays fine for me. The only difference I suspect in what I have done is to use Calibre's "Modify Epub" to strip out the inline Javascript and one or two other minor changes before converting it to Kepub and uploading to my Glo.

Is your display problem throughout the text or just in one part ?.

I just tried your suggestion about javascript - no difference; then I tried modify body margin styles - idem; then I tried to convert first in calibre - idem.
So I'm resigned to reading it as an epub.

I have the same problem with Calibre 1.23.
I uninstall the old Kobotouchextended. Still have same error
Have any solution???

I have to deleate it from the folder of plugins in windows. Then install the new plugin manualy.

A superficial glance at the extended driver's code on github suggests that it automatically supports the same Kobo firmware versions as the "normal" driver - is that correct?

I'm wanting to make sure everything's updated before Kobo allow me to update my Aura to firmware version 3.2.0.

Really there is no point to worrying about compatibility of the drivers and the f/w. Those of us (including davidfor) who get beta builds would quickly find if there were issues and would (as soon as the f/w was released) ensure the community was alerted.
