Heat wave continues. Our ridge of high pressure (the huge red area on the weather map) shows no signs of moving, allowing heat & humidity to build in and stay. No rain. No relief. Temps will continue in the 90's F into next week! Sigh .....

When i moved to Chapel Hill twelve years ago, on August 19th it was 106 degrees. Seems like we're in for another one of those summers.

yeah, I remember the "wet bulb" readings, and when we would be allowed to not blouse our boots, or leave our shirts untucked. we still had to at least walk. basic in South Carolina, and advanced in Georgia
