aw, fledchen, i feel bad for you. i hate it when people yell at me for things that aren't my fault and i can't fix too. here, have a hug, i hope nobody yells at you any more (or at the least, not for a really long time).

Some grocery stores have bank branches inside them, but this is a convenience store and all we have is an ATM for Large Bank. Large Bank pays Oil Corporation** a monthly fee for the space and electricity.

Every few months, some poor confused soul mails important documents intended for Large Bank to my store. We send them on to the nearest real branch of the bank, but it's still annoying for all parties involved. I hope no one is too terribly inconvenienced by the delay in proper delivery.

I also get frustrated when there are problems with the ATM. No one employed at my store has any authority to call out a technician when it's broken. No, we can't call the armored car company to come if it runs out of cash. No, we don't know when the next delivery will be because they change the route every day for security reasons. No, we don't have extra deposit envelopes. I'm sorry, I really am, but I can't help and it's really frustrating when people yell at me, like someone did today. I know people are in a hurry, otherwise they'd wait until they can go to a proper bank. I know how frustrating it can be to be stranded without cash. But please, for the love of bunnies, don't take it out on me.

It is a major frustration to be yelled at for
1) something that's not your fault
2) and you can't fix it
3) and it's not your responsibility to fix it

You might try smiling next time and explain that you're waiting on a delivery of cash from Congress - the bail out money for Large Bank.
Or tell them that Large Oil company is having problems in the Gulf and doesn't really care about this one ATM machine!
Or tell them that they must produce proof of citizenship before the ATM will give them cash.

I get this all the time. We have a Red Box machine and a Coin Star machine. Neither of which we have keys to, or any idea how to fix even if we HAD keys. I've been yelled at countless times because people insist on dumping their money into the Coinstar machine, even though there is a HUGE sign on it saying "vouchers ONLY redeemed at Service Desk, Hours 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
Same with Red Box. If it's down, people yell at me because they have to drive all the way across town to return their movie.

ARRRGGHHHH!!!! I called in my pain prescription refill THREE DAYS AGO!!!! and it still is not done!!! I have been out of pain meds for 2 and a half days now, 8 ibuprofen at a shot don't cut it and are eating a hole in my belly!!!! and of course I am certain I am going through a certain amount of withdrawal

not to mention that it is interfering with my other *ah-hem* project
