No flights in/out of RDU Airport - temporarily under water. Too much rain for storm drains to handle. Lots of roads shut down b/c of flooding. Quarter size hail & larger.

Hope things clear up a bit by the time I try to drive home tonight.

I'm sorry to say we sent that weather system to you guys from Atlanta. It was terrible here last night. 3 people were killed by falling trees.

Drove home in a relative lull. Flowers & shrubbery look like something fell on them - just from heavy non-stop rain.

All flights from/into RDU are now delayed at least 2 hours - all runways were flooded. So this storm has fubared the eastern seaboard flight schedules too!

Just looked at radar - more rain on the way! You can stop now Betty! We've had quite enough rain!

Getting ready for the Typhoon that's heading our way. It's over Okinawa right now, and it's predicted path should bring it over the Kyoto/Osaka area by tomorrow afternoon... I think it's time to batten down the hatches!

A bit of trivia for you; what's the difference between a typhoon and a hurricane?

I think the only diff between h'cane and typh is hemisphere, right? Pacific Ocean and thereabouts are typhoons, while storms on my side of the world are hurricanes.

I think that was one of my third grade learned factoids, and when I told that to my Uncle, he responded with; "do you know why they do not call hurricanes himicanes?... they would never make it past the Virgin Islands." when my 9 year old self very proudly and seriously told my mother that, the fur flew....
