Today is my 24th wedding anniversary. With a sick child at home (Ryleigh has croup), I've been unable to get out to the store to buy the gift I had planned to get for my husband. So, I had to order it online and pay the extortionist overnight shipping fee (serves me right for waiting until the last minute, which I hardly ever do). As his birthday is also this week, I went ahead and bought the DVD sets for all 8 seasons of the Magnum, P.I. series. I don't remember much of about the show other than thinking that Tom Selleck was awfully good looking.

We watch that every night on RTV. Funny.......I remember when it first came out, I hated it. Wouldn't watch it on a bet. Now, I'm enjoying it tremendously.

Good stories, ranging from comedic to drama. Good character roles.

PS......hope the little one gets better soon.

Wondering what happened to Bambi...

Reason being that this morning when I drove into work I hit a deer.

I was driving along on a 70 Kmh stretch of road, when I spotted a deer jumping out of the ditch a way ahead of me, so I started to slow down, since they usually come in two's or more the silly things.

And sure enough, when I had managed to get my speed down to about 20 km/h one of the silly buggers jumped up more or less right in front of me, needless to say, I stood on the brakes, but couldn't stop in time, so I clipped the poor thing.

It skidded over the raod and into the ditch on the other side, I turned on my warning lights and stopped, got out and checked, but the poor thing had managed to get up and run off into the woods. So naturally I called the police so they could send out someone to track it down.

I couldn't have hit it that hard since there wasn't even a dent on the car, and no smashed headlights or anything, and there was dropplets of saliva on one of the headlights, so it must have smashed it's head against one of those, and by the other headlight there was a tuft of hair stuck to the car.

I'm glad nothing worse happened to me, the dogs or the car, but I still feel concerned about the poor deer.

Wow, so not only did you hit him, now you're gonna get him arrested too? Poor thing.

Nah, seriously, I'm sure he'll be all right, and glad you guys weren't hurt

Sure, arrested for jaywalking

Actually though, you are required by law here in sweden to report to the police if you hit a wild animal with your car. That is so they can send out a hunter to track it down and shoot it if it is hurt.

Congratulations Kaz and Hubby on your 24th.

Coincidentally, today is my (our) 35th anniversary. I'm hoping to get a trophy, but I'd be thrilled just to get a dinner OUT. Nothing fancy, just a step or two above Micky D's (I'm a cheap date.)

I hope yours turns out to be wonderful. I'm sure under the circumstances it will be memorable.

it's amazing what those buggers can survive! it's equally amazing how long they can continue on more than half dead! it's great that they have that policy!

you can take the goggies to work!? how fantastic!

Thanks, all, and Congratulations, LadyBlue (and PBOb a month late )!!

Ryleigh is well on the mend. The doctor gave her a prescription to help push it out of her system quicker and she probably could have gone back to school today, but being an overprotective parent, I kept her home. Tomorrow is a holiday here in the States, Veteran's Day, so it will give her a little extra time to get healthy. I'm lucky because I have my two adult children still living at home. They will babysit tonight so that David and I can go out to dinner. He has made all the arrangements but has told me I have to dress-up, which is NOT my favorite thing to do. I'm pretty much a jeans and sweater girl and am usually a fairly cheap date, too.

You're officially the only parent I've ever heard say that.

It has been my experience that the jeans-&-sweater girls are the ones who have to put the least amount of effort when "dressing up".
