Evil evil women.

I just purchased the "six times a charm" package as my mother in law is coming to visit and I have not bought any romance books in a while.

Last year I made the horrible mistake of gifting Kindles to my mother and mother-in-law (both retired, fixed income). I had to buy "50 shades of grey" for my Android Tablet because I am not sure how un-comfortable the looks or snickers would be at the next family get-together.

(Yes, I know they would probably enjoy them, but they are ... mom's. It's an awkward corner I have painted myself into..)

Keep the announcements coming as my MIL is here for a week. (sigh)

(I actually like my MIL but I know who will be home first and required to entertain her... The same bedroom rules apply for MIL visits as birthdays and anniversaries - right?)

I officially hate Overdrive. I did a Jodi Thomas search on Brooklyn and found only the second book of The Wife Lottery series, none of the others, and had to go immediately to Amazon and buy book #1 and book #3.

And I'm going to stop my blog reading because I just had to pre-order Jill Shalvis' latest that is released tomorrow.

None were in my normal $2 price range.

That's three books since this morning!

I'm looking forward to the Shalvis book. It's the one I had all the issues with pre-ordering at B&N so it had better be there for to download in the morning.

I am so far behind in this series I won't actually get to read it tomorrow, but it's the principle of the matter. I only pre-ordered due to the price.

Why pre-order? Wouldn't it be better to wait for its release then use the 50% off coupon at Kobo to get a better deal?

I did some reading around this morning too. Let's just say I haven't bought them yet, but in the next month there will be another 20-30 purchases with books being released that I now have to have.

I've never purchased from Kobo. Swagbucks will help pay for the book.

From Rags - Suzanne Wright
blurb: There has only been three people in Jaxxon Carter's life who truly mattered to her. Her mother, who committed suicide. Her sister, who she hasn’t seen since her teens. And Connor McKenzie, who disappeared from her life the same day he left their foster home. The hardest part is that he never completely left her life because she was forever seeing him on T.V. or in magazines as a Formula One Driver. But Jaxxon refuses to live a ‘woe is me’ life, even in spite of living alone in her one-roomed flat and being expected to survive on a ridiculously low income. Then one night she is offered a modelling job and, before she knows it, she has been catapulted to the peak of success – gaining fame, fortune, and security. Oh, and a stalker.

Connor McKenzie is busy trying to shake off his crazy ex-girlfriend – another woman who thought she could get around his no-marriage rule – when he sees Jaxxon on the cover of a magazine. Remembering how close they had once been, he’s shocked when she doesn’t respond to his attempts to contact her. Moreover, she acts indifferently to him when they meet. But Connor can’t let it go. The only reason he had kept his hands off her ten years ago was that she had been younger than him. Now that they’re adults, he isn’t prepared to allow anything – not even Jaxxon – to stop him from having her.

But if you use the Kobo link on the Swagbucks site it will pay for future books. Plus it does so based on the pre-coupon price

Oh well maybe it's a good thing you haven't. It keeps the purchasing down. lol I now will buy previous Agency books from them as long it's cheaper and I have a good coupon.

I'm working my way to a new grilling machine. I love Swagbucks!

So thanks to everyone, and the Kobo coupon being good on former-agency books, I've been busy filling in the holes to a few series. My threshold is still the same as it's been for the 10 years I've been e-reading. Check (my three) public libraries, and if I can't get it there, I'll pay up to $5-6. Maybe I should increase that due to inflation? Nah, don't need to thanks to this thread

This Kobo deal is dangerous... there are still several more I'm eyeing up, but I should probably wait for payday.

I don't know why I've never purchased anything from the Kobo site. It's not like I've ever gone hog-wild on any other site (errr Harlequin? *snort*).
