Yep, page turning is soo much better in the 2.1.1 release

Small difference I've noticed though-
If you have the Abdobe epub page numbering turned on in advanced settings, the size of these now changes with the font size. Hasn't done this as far back as 1.9.17, so I'm not sure whether this is a bug or a fixed bug.

The first time I updated the to 2.1.1, the Touch rejected the new firmware. As in it reverted to 2.0.0.c

The second time, it did the dancing squares. So, I'm back to 2.0.0.c...

Yes a noticeable improvement although I've only tested on one book and then only turned a couple of pages forward and back but it is faster.

A big improvement but the time the clock stays on screen before changing to % read needs to be longer or be a user setting. If I wasn't looking for it I probably wouldn't have noticed it, it reverts so quickly.

Going camping for the week, may have more to say afterward as I will be testing the new firmware out over the week rather than reverting back to 1.9.17 since nothing jumps out at me as being unable to tolerate like 2.0 did.

The font issue is why I have Charis SIL (modified version) loaded on my KT. It gives me the diacritical marks and the weight modifications give a font that is dark enough to easily read. You can modify fonts to change the weight but that is a total time consuming pain in the posterior to implement.

If you move Discovery to another menu it would made Reading redundant, as it is, when I tap on Discovery to get rid of the the number beside it, I tap on Reading to quickly return to the carousel.

As for a menu choice, I suspect I'm not going to get one that says remove all the social network and sales crap but that's what I would vote for.

I wonder how many people are going to find and/or use the Fullscreen Cover Stretch on the Sleep&Power menu...

It's not really but I'm not confident enough in my abilities to not muck something up, have to go through a factory reset, and put all my books back on my KT. The fewer factory resets I have to do the happier I am.

Loving the new update.
Sideloaded (sd card stored) ebooks page turning is smooth.
I have to log out and log back into the KT to get shelves working, but after that it worked perfectly.
No crashing to the home screen either when reading.

So whilst 1.9.17 was a great firmware, 2.1.1 is better. All I really wanted was the shelves.

It would be nice to have instant access to the shortlist back, so hope that will be returned in a future update.

Anyway, Thanks Kobo!

I don't understand... why would Kobo fix a huge bunch of all sorts of bugs we've all been screaming about, and then only release it in Japan? What's going on?

Oooh that sounds exactly like what I've wanted since forever! All my covers are already the right dimension (600x800), but Kobo keeps putting side margins in (ie. squishing the image). Even more excited now!

Another strange thing (possible bug): In the French-French and Japanese-Japanese dicts there's no arrow on the left to get to the input field.

Maybe manual input/corrections are not possible for Japanese, I don't know, but French should work the same way German and English work...

Sneaky! I was on 2.0.2, and installing 2.1.1 caused 2.0.0 (r41166, 7/12/12) to reappear... with strangely different fonts (bolder? italicised?) all over the system...
