Welcome back Bepee, I hope you feel refreshed after a play in the snow.
The news from Japan is very unsettling, sad and we all wish it could be otherwise. |

Good morning, everyone.
Thanks for your concern. All is well with me and mine. I was called away for a photo shoot by a client, that required me to pack up and go right after the call. It was an underwater shoot for some rich vacationers, and the boat we were on didn't have a terminal that I could use to connect out to let you all know. That was then... I returned home just in time for the NEXT earthquake, but fortunately for us, it was 300 miles away and only shook us up a little. Not even enough to knock things off the shelves. The folks up north were not so lucky. The TV coverage shows a LOT of damage... I was here for the huge Kobe quake in '95. That one emptied our shelves and bounced us around the floor. I'm not a fan of earth quakes... Stitchawl |

The first weekend morning.
No need to do physical morning jerks. No need to go to work. I want and can stay in bed till 13.00? 14.00? Woke up at 05.10 though and had trouble to fall asleep after that and woke up completely at 07.55, however even that cannot mar my mood ![]() ![]() ![]() Poppaea Mariage Frères have a good choice of black teas indeed. 16 different Assams! I will check the Chinese black teas later today ![]() beppe & Stitchawl Nice to have you back in our club ![]() Stitchawl My better 37/45 liked oolongs and green teas we tested when we had Masterclass. So, we have ordered some good names ![]() ![]() Tea House emporium sent me a a big (25gr) sample of White Monkey. They call it white tea. I have White Monkey from NBTea and it is green tea, the second Chinese green tea that I love after Dragonwell. I suspect there are two different teas with the same name. |

Please, don't judge too harsh the mind of a simpleton. A slip of tongue, you might call it. Forgive and forget. I blurted out the anxiety all of us have been feeling in the last couple of days. I will behave. I promise. I drink for all of us The East India Company's Emperors Yunnan ![]() 3 days ago I received another strainer. Briefly> WOW! The best of the best. Brew-in-Mug Extra-fine Tea Infuser with Lid Somebody here suggest it. Either ProfCrash or Poppaea? It is sooo good. Indeed extra/super fine. It is not made of mesh as all other, including an excellent strainer from ETEAKET . It is a solid metal case with tiny holes. Very easy to clean. It is huge ![]() ![]() Fantastic strainer. Worth every penny of importing it from the USA. Poppaea I have had another look at Mariage Frères. You were right. There straight teas selection is amazing. Black, green, blue, Pu-Erh! I stand corrected and like the shop again ![]() ![]() Off to read The Book of Tea urging me to contemplate the worship of the Imperfect... Last edited by astra; 03-12-2011 at 05:28 AM. |

I wish I had some coffee in the house!!!! Can't open my eyes today.
@astra You asked about the Russian teas I am so obsessed with. Like your wife Ilike whites, green and oolang teas, not so much sdtraight blacks. Russian teas are blacks with natural flavours mostly citrus things, Earl Grey type, like orange blossom, bergamotte, lemon, citrus. Sometimes with a hint of vanilla and/or raisin. As I detest artificial flavours and would not dream of drinking anything that is called 'Amaretto' for example or anything like this, these are my favourite black teas and thus my love for Kusmi which have a very large selection of different russian teas. Also it is very easy for me to like those companies as we have their knowlegeable staff around for explanations. Their love for their teas is just irresistible and I have the privileg of being on very friendly terms with them as I used to work in Galeries Lafayette for quite a while, so they take their time with me explaining everything. BTW, my German half likes to have a full set of the things I like. ;-) I will tell you next Thursday about the Frères Oolongs. |
