It is normal that takes so long to get the recipe ?
You obviously based this recipe on one of my older recipes. It is normal that download may take a long time to be executed.

You should remove html2lrf_options, html2epub_options since they are obsolete as of calibre 0.6. Both of these are replaced with conversion_options.

No easy way. Basically override the parse_feeds function

Thanks, good to know.

Since I'm pretty much a complete n00b with Calibre, I'll work on something to just re-purpose the RSS feed and feed that to it, instead.

Thanks!

gulli:news

I've done a recipe for the german independend news site: gulli:news

Code:
class AdvancedUserRecipe1259599587(BasicNewsRecipe):
    title          = u'Gulli'
    oldest_article = 7
    max_articles_per_feed = 100
    no_stylesheets = True

    feeds          = [(u'gulli:news', u'http://ticker.gulli.com/rss/')]

    remove_tags = [{'class' : ['addthis_button', 'BreadCrumb']}, {'id' : ['plista0']}]

    keep_only_tags = [dict(name='div', attrs={'class':'inside'})]

Has anyone created a recipe for Foreign Affairs? The current issue articles can be found at http://www.foreignaffairs.com/issues/2009/88/6.

I have a new Kindle 2 coming my way and I'm new to the whole e-book thing. Loving Calibre so far, but would love a recipe to get the daily "My Utmost for His Highest" readings from http://rbc.org/utmost/index.php. There is an RSS feed there as well.

Thanks for looking in advance!!!

BTW, is there any easy way to create a recipe, or is it pretty complicated. It looks like it might be.

Hey, I just tried out the new free Economist recipe, where he notes that it takes longer to download. Well, I am around 52mins in and I am at 1% completed. I take it this is not right. I have a 1mb connection.

Any ideas?

It should take about 3 times as long as the subscription based recipe. And yes, it will remain stuck at 1% for a long time.

This is ghastly html indeed. However, I did have some time on my hands, so I took the liberty of having a shot at it. The result is not perfect: all formatting is gone and calibre fails to convert about 5% of the articles due to illegal entities (I think).
Maybe it can be improved upon, but it will have to do for now.
